I know several Orangemen and they do not support terror attacks or provocation, though doubtless some do. Equally I know many Irishmen and the bulk of those do not support terror or provacation, though again some Irishmen do.

Still, a ridiculous and outdated ritual like a sectarian march should no longer exist in a modern, civilised country, if that can be said about that particular part of Ireland/the UK. Or at least those events should be held only where there's no risk of provoking a violent backlash.

Quite so, but the Orangemen still dress up a bit like Masons and strut around full of their own importance. It all a bit Pythonesque for my tastes and as far as I can see, only done to piss off the Catholics. As a matter of interest does anyone know if there are any Orangewomen, or is that a silly question?

The Orange Order references William and Mary - Dutch William was Prince of Orange long before he and his English wife deposed James II and became the King and Queen of England in James' place.
