Romantic Scenes?

Have any of you seen any adult films with romantic/gentle but explicit love making scenes in them? I know in some movies the lesbian scenes can be more tender than boy/girl scenes.

The only romantic scene I can think of is at the end of Talk Dirty to Me Part 1. A couple have sex (I think for the first time) at first it's a bit awkward but then it's fun when they start getting into it and each other. It was a diiferent and an unusual scene and I liked it.

A scene with Veronica Hart, who's playing a prostitute and a young customer in Amanda By Night is similiar. She slowly seduces him and show him how to please a woman.

I enjoy scenes which have a more gentle tone than what we usually get. I like scenes when it looks like a couple is really enjoying themselves in a believeable context.

Man, there's a lot more of this than you think! It's what many of the raincoat brigade on r.a.m.e. used to call "that Vivid shit."

Off the top of my head, try Surrender in Paradise (1984), but be warned, Jerry Butler is the whole male cast, shipwrecked on a tropic island with a very cute gaggle of girls. The sequel, The Pink Lagoon, is not as good and more of a standard porn film; at least, that's my take on it.

If you can find it, Felicia (1976), an import from France with majorly hot American actress Rebecca Brooke -- though it does involve a 30-something married couple and an implicitly *nderage house guest. The Euro cut is supposed to be softcore and more dramatically satisfying than the American, which is hardcore (mostly oral sex), but the American version is pretty damn good too.

The Barbara Bourbon/Eric Edwards scene in Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann is a standout. If ya haven't seen A Scent of Heather, with Veronica Hart, R Bolla, and Eric Edwards, do so promptly. Jamie Gillis and Kim Pope's scene in The Passion of Carol (1975), the porn remake of A Christmas Carol. Jim Holliday put it at #2 or #3 on his top 12 romantic fuck scenes of all time, but it's the only thing in the movie that really fits the bill.

Not in print AFAIK, but A Classical Romance, from abt 1985, is quite good in this vein. Classical pianist who's gigging in swing bars falls for a woman who's unhappily married, with Paul Thomas and Jacqueline Lorians. Written by Will Kelly, who is undeniably a pen name for Valerie Kelly. She wrote several similar pix in the middle 80s, though this one is probably the best. (Older Men with Younger Girls is another, and isn't what the title implies; also Physical Attraction, and a couple of Traci Lords pix you can't get in the US anymore, are among the others.)

Vivid pix, especially the ones shot on film, directed by Paul Thomas would also be worth checking out. He directed a lot of films there in the 90s, and the ones from earlier in the decade tend to be the best. Look in particular for a combo of Thomas as director and Jennifer Stewart as star -- The Swap would probably be up your alley, and there's another on which I'm drawing a complete blank (No Time for Love). Stewart is a surprisingly wholesome straw blonde who had a good knack at depicting fuck-for-love.

Desires Within Young Girls (1978) would probably be up your alley as well, and a longtime favorite of mine, Thoroughly Amorous Amy (1977), with Tracy O'Neil, might also qualify.

If ya can find it, Robert Rimmer's X-Rated Videotape Guide (I have the second ed, from 1985) has a lot of reviews and recommendations in this vein. Patrick Riley bought the franchise and continued the series, but he used to review on r.a.m.e., and he wasn't much interested in anything but girls who looked 2 minutes past 18 and had really tight stomachs that didn't suggest they might have ever been pregnant. Rimmer's preferences would jibe fairly closely with your own, I suspect; they do as a rule with mine.

Look up the Passages series (4 films) that Paul Thomas did for Vivid. Its a great attempt at making a "romantic love" series. I cannot believe that there is not more porn like this. To hell with people talking about the "couples" market and the "womens" market, its just really hot to see two people who would seem to be in love getting it on. It features Christy Canyon and Jennifer Stewart as the leads, so how can you go wrong?

In my own experience it's only too rare to find love, rather than mere lust, depicted in porn. But it's priceless when you do.

I remember when the movie "In Love" staring Kelly Nichols came out in like 82 or 83 it was really played up to be a romantic melodrama. I don't think I saw the movie itself, but we would see the previews of it.

Be warned though, it has the absolutely horrible Jerry Butler in it.

I can give you a list of romantic classic scenes but that would take some time.
However, Romance in porn is coming back today with studios like: Viv Thomas, Sweet Sinner and Daring. Sweet Sinner tries to create credible plot-lines and its choice of actors is refreshing. The sexual acts are very natural, too.

Like yourself, I must say that I too long for more romance and seduction in porn. Something like softcore turning explicit but without the choking and slapping--which is not sex but rather plain sadism.

On a different note, there are some great European flicks which are very erotic.
Try Anita Dark's Pretty Girl.

The recent "Sex Files, The: A Dark XXX Parody" has a great build up for the Mulder and Scully climax. That last scene in the film is the best I've seen for a very long time.

I think it was the time I saw some American crap - something about Gladiators, where the women had tan lines ( on their bosoms too) and the men had Armani tatoos on their arms, and this was set in like 60BC....that I asked myself, why am I watching this? I didn't watch it for the bonking I realised at long last.
Which is probably why I prefer softcore, because there's actually a story in them.

American adult stuff is very assembly line nowadays.And the actors/actresses show it in their eyes.
Turn up, do a bit of drilling, gasp a lot, spit, pretend to choke,get dressed, go home, collect the kids, watch TV.

Well, let's be honest, there's only so much romance you can put into a scene where the end result is 2 people fucking...and in modern porn? Uhhh, no....not with all the idiotic and repetitive "fuck me, oh shit, pound that pussy" dialogue.

That being said...I remember one scene with Mike Horner and Annette Haven that really was quite romantic around the screwing. Can't remember the movie, tho.

No dialogue that I remember, just soft mood music and 2 people having a good time.
