Changing the topic slightly, regarding longevity of files.

Free users: Files are deleted after 15 days of no activity.
Free account users: after 30 days of no activity.

I can't see information about how long ago my files were
last accessed, so I don't know how long they have left before
automatic deletion.

To reset the dateline, does the complete file have to be
downloaded, or could I just download say 1Mb, and then
stop the download?

If so, I could reset the dateline of all my files quite easily
every few weeks, to save having to re-up them periodically.

If you go into file manager and single click a file, you will see an italic "i" in a circle on the top right options.

Click on the "i" and that will give you download stats on the file including last download. It is a bit funky and seems to hang for a while saying calculating stats. If it does that just wait a bit and refresh the page clicking resend info. The stats should show then.

I have no idea if downloading your own files will reset the date. All I can say is try it and see.

Sorry Jenny, but it will prevent from downloading in some cases. I also activated/deactivated the options 'Download without SSL encryption' and 'Inline Download'. It didn't help.

I wasn't able to download files even with deactivated uBlock Origin and NoScript. I use Waterfox 56.2.2, but I also tested Firefox 61.0.1. Always got the above message and the download seemed to be blocked.

I bypassed this issue with installing Opera (Portable Version). I still use Watefox for browsing (and 1fichier is the first filehost where I had problems using Waterfox with uBlock Origin/NoScript). So I use Opera exclusively for downloading from 1fichier.

Not the ideal solution, but it works at the moment. I'll test 1fichier with any new version of Waterfox and the mentioned addons.

There may be a problem with the new version of uBlock Origin or/and NoScript. There may be a problem with a security script in the new version of Firefox/Waterfox. Don't know.

I tried Chrome and Firefox with ALL addons disabled and as a free user (I do have premium so I signed out first) and nothing works, maybe it's my location (Europe), who knows...

BUT, I did find that Opera browser will work out of the box and without any addons.

Following the link that was posted earlier and deleted again, I found an answer that might fix the issue for Firefox users:

"So, if you deactivate the tracking protection the issue is fixed on your end?"

I just tried it and it works for me.

Go to Firefox settings -> privacy and security -> tracking protection -> set to 'never', and then the download worked, as a free user and with adblock enabled..

You mean this link: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/2612

I found this information and posted it here, but after checking my own configuration I deleted it from my post. I already had tracking protection deactivated and it didn't fix the problem for me. So I thought this couldn't be the reason in our case. Sorry, I just didn't want to give a hint that doesn't work.

Strange ... it seems that there are a few reasons why there can be issues with 1fichier at the moment. I don't really fancy to check them all. As far as I am concerned, using Opera for downloading from 1fichier is the far easier way to handle the problem.

I uploaded close to 500 full movies to 1Fichier in the last two weeks and tested them all. Many are re-posted here on the Forum with no problems

I use a vanilla FF with adblock disabled. Admittedly, I have a premium sub

Yep it was that link.. it was in my topic notifications email...

Weird part is, I tried downloading as free user and it didnt work in FF or Chrome no matter what I tried, but I had no problems with Opera. Soon as I disabled the tracking in FF, bam, it worked.

But yeah, Opera would be the way to go for free users if all else fails...

Last week I extended my premium for 2 years, the €30 offer is totally worth it

Pain in the Butt this is becoming!
Found the Firefox fix for this one anyway. When you change and save your
new login/pass in Firefox, it doesn't delete the old one.

Got to: options/privacy&security/forms&passwords.

Hit the "saved logins" button. At the bottom of the box hit "show passwords".
Highlight the 1fichier entry with the old password, and hit "remove" button.

I can now access my free account again, though not download still.

Nope, doesn't work for me either. I'd thought about whitelisting 1fichier,
but at no point do I see the "shield" icon, to say that FF is actually
blocking a tracker from 1fichier.

There must be other factors involved.
