I have Adblock plus 2.1.2 add-on for Firefox and it was working perfectly. Now, I am seeing ads again. Any ideas what happened?

1. Tools > Add-ons > Extensions and click the options button by Adblock plus or 2. Click the arrow next to the Adblock plus icon in the Firefox icon bar area Your subscriptions may need updating or changing. Alternatively it might be that the adverts you're seeing aren't yet included on any subscription list, in which case you can normally block them on a per-page basis by right-clicking on the advert and going through the appropriate context menu options. |

I have been having some issues with FF since the weekend. Pages hang when they are loading and everything freezes up. I also get the FF is not responding message quite often.
It's really starting to piss me off. I thought I had sorted it earlier by disabling all my addons but after a short while it started happening again. It gets worse the more tabs I have open. It started happening around about the same time that I updated Java, coincidence?

I recently did a Java update and have had no problems with Firefox.

If it's still happening after you've disabled all addons, maybe an inherited change to your about:config is causing it. Use the -ProfileManager switch on the command line and then change to this new profile to test it out. You'll be able to go back later. Apologies if you've already tried this.

DownloadHelper Plugin - Youtube video
I have posted a youtube video in the Zara Whites thread which is a documentary called:
A Chacun Son Histoire - Stars du X, comment en sortir indemne ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXzfz7lIXRY I have downloadhelper for mozilla firefox and want to download this to my comp, however the helper balloon is greyed out. The video also appears to stream rather than download. Jdownloader also does not see the link to allow it to parse the url to get the download. Other videos from youtube download just fine with both programs, all except this one in particular. Any help, suggestions, information on this would be greatly appreciated.

DownloadHelper had not worked for me with YouTube for quite some time - until an update a couple of weeks ago fixed it (version 4.9.10). But now this.
The difference with this video is not merely that the download fails but that the icon doesn't even start spinning. None of the tools I'd used on YouTube while DownloadHelper wasn't working with it detect this video either. Can anyone identify anything about it that is unusual? I'm worried that there are going to be more like it. I'd post on their support site, but I tried that with another issue and they just ignored me.

About problems with DownloadHelper:
I have found with many "video-download" add-ons that if I click the play button of the video on the web page then the software finds the video it could not see before. About current problems with Firefox: It seems that there have been more than the usual number of problems with version 15 of FF. I have noticed that many people finding add-ons are now having problems with other add-ons or they are conflicting with Java and Flash on the web pages. I hope these things help someone keep their sanity, e.d. |
