It seems like it is not a new thing but some residue from the previous incident. Don't be too cynical - we do have a very good public health system and, of course, now have experience in dealing with the nasty stuff.

But I'm not liking the conspiracy theories or the blaming of the Russian government when no proof has been offered to the British people or anyone else. It is puzzling, but we live in a world with a lot of loose cannons about.

I guess we'll find out what really happened in about twenty years' time.

TWA Flight 800, for example.
They say it was an electrical fault in a fuel tank that blew up the plane, despite a few eye-witness reports of some kind of missile.

Now, as far as the "electrical fault" is concerned, consider, millions of cars have electrical sending units in their fuel tanks, and not one single one of them has blown up while driving, despite the fact that gasoline is more volatile than jet fuel.
