Four Labour shadow cabinet members have quit, and more resignations are expected, in protest at Jeremy Corbyn's leadership over the EU referendum. They are Heidi Alexander, Ian Murray, Gloria de Piero and Lillian Greenwood. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-36632956

If Scotland were to try and block the Leave decision then I see a massive change in the way the English would perceive Scotland. Whereas most English people wanted Scotland to remain part of the UK I think we would move towards a desire to have a mutual agreed separation.
The next few weeks and months are going to be very interesting.

It seems to me she wants to paint her face blue & get herself into the History books, Has she even asked the Scottish people If they'd like another referendum or just presumed it ? afterthought, Being in the EU saves a lot of law-making & provides someone else to shift any blame onto

Well the only way she could ask the Scottish people is through another referendum even though she claims a mandate through her campaigning at the last Scottish parliament election.
But she would not even venture in to another referendum unless she was absolutely sure she would win it. Maybe she should ask 'Dave' who was sure he would win his before such a step. As for her latest hot-air comments about Scottish parliament blocking Brexit she is really talking through her underpants. It is the UK that voted (including Scotland). I hardly see the devolved parliament having such a power given that the SNP has a raft of MP's at Westminster. Sure that they could vote against the will of the people but they will require the support of other parties and they would hardly do so since they know they would be quickly out of job if they did so. |

She'd have a strong argument today. If Scotland got independent and re-joined the EU, it would keep all its foreign investment and take a lot of it from the English That would seriously annoy England, but what argument would they have against it? |

^^ It's Sunday afternoon and the dinner (with wine) was very nice.
I glanced at the quoted legislation but being no lawyer could not see such a correalation with what is written to what is proposed. What I do read is that the devolved parliament can not introduce legislation that is contrary to the European Community, which I take to read as the EU. So in that respect the Scottish parliament's hand are tied as much as the UK as a whole. Indeed I still do not see any UK government giving a devolved assembly such a veto. But like I said I am no lawyer. |

She would have a strong argument and a strong national identity that the EU would warmly welcome if only to annoy the English but is That the best reason to dissolve our UK union & create another border?
