Pakistan oil tanker inferno kills at least 123
At least 123 people were killed when a lorry transporting oil burst into flames near the Pakistani city of Ahmedpur East, local officials say.
A crowd had gathered reportedly to collect fuel leaking from the overturned vehicle when it caught fire. Dozens are being treated in hospital. It appears the tanker blew a tyre while rounding a sharp bend in the road. The subsequent fire may have been sparked by someone lighting a cigarette, rescue services say. The country's roads are notoriously dangerous, with poor vehicle maintenance and reckless driving contributing to the problem. Army helicopters were dispatched to ferry casualties to hospitals, army spokesman Major Gen Asif Ghafoor said in a tweet. Pakistani media have published pictures from the scene, showing charred bodies and vehicles. There are fears that the death toll could rise further. At least six cars and 12 motorcycles were burnt, Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reports. Some victims may only be identified by DNA sampling as bodies were badly burned in the incident, reports say. German Affairs
I hear in the radio this morning:
German Chancellor candidate Marting Schulz is getting former chancellor Gerhard Schroeder into the boat (to support the electing team). In my opinion that's the last nail of the coffin for the SPD (Social Democrats), the last big mistake he could make. Translated into English circumstances: that Jeremy Corbyn would lean on Tony Blair to support him at a vote. (Gerhard Schroeder is as much as popular for the German voters as Tony Blair would be for the English).

Six hurt as car hits crowd in Newcastle Eid celebration
Six people, including three children, were injured when a car mounted a kerb and ploughed into a crowd of people outside a sports centre in Newcastle.
It happened outside Westgate Sports Centre where an event was taking place to celebrate the end of Ramadan. One of the children is said to have been critically injured. Northumbria Police said the incident was not believed to be terrorism-related. A 42-year-old woman was arrested and is in custody, police said. No-one else was being sought. Extra patrols were in the area to reassure communities, police said. Hundreds of people were at the event to mark the end of Ramadan. Details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-40397028

Protesters confront Met Police over man's death
Protesters have faced off with police in a demonstration over the death of a man after a traffic stop.
Campaigners shouting "we want justice" stood in front of a line of officers at Stratford bus station, east London. They allege Edir Frederico Da Costa, 25, was "brutally beaten" by Met Police officers earlier this month. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating the treatment of Mr Da Costa, who died six days after he was stopped by police. Borough Commander Supt Ian Larnder stood in the middle of a group of protesters trying to answer their questions and calm tensions. One protester rode his motorbike up to the police line and revved his engine in front of officers. Another motorcyclist turned his bike towards the officers and span his wheels so smoke blew towards them. Police were still at the scene outside the station in large numbers at 22.50 BST on Sunday. Firefighters, protected by police, hosed out a fire which had been set in a bin in Richmond Road. Bricks had been ripped from a wall and thrown at police. Family campaigners said the violence was not coming from them and it had been set up as a peaceful march. Officers with dogs arrived at the scene at about 22:55. Layoffs are becoming secret now...
Dozens of people claiming to be current and former employees of Advance Auto Parts, have been discussing alleged company wide layoffs online. They say the layoffs started on June 19th.
According to a number of posts from TheLayoff.com, nearly 1000 employees will be laid off. They claim longtime employees and positions from sales and distribution centers are the target of this round of layoffs. WDBJ7 has made several attempts to confirm the layoffs through a company spokesperson but no one has responded to the requests. In 2015, Advance Auto Parts laid off 50 corporate positions in Roanoke.

So, ImageBam and Imgbox won't be shutting down after all?
On the one hand, very happy that 50% of this fine forum will not be disappearing. On the other hand, thanks a f*cking lot, Imagebam. That's a few days out of my life I spent reposting that I'm not getting back.

I feel almost betrayed by imagebam.com. I spent the last three weeks re-uploading over 2700 photo posts on 15 different threads using other image hosting services, and now they say that everything will be ok. How can I trust them. I still feel that they are the easiest and most reliable image hosting service. I have tried many others: hotflick.net, postimage.io, imagevenue.com, pixhost.to, pixxxels.cc, and none of these I found to be as simple as imagebam. Now I am using postimage.io for non-adult photos and pixhost.to for nude posts., but if when imagebam comes back and their format has not changed I may go back to them. You darn buzzards!
