Wow PuhBear your post made me research this part. You are right about the US. It started in 1939 with the refusal to allow 900, mainly Jewish , passengers on the St. Louis to make port. The ship ended up returning to Europe and over a third of those passengers died.

Yes, that's a sad story and not so publicly known as other stories.
The ships were mostly some kind of cargo ships or something between a cargo and passenger ships.
And diseases broke (bloody flux for example) out because of the hygienic conditions as you can imagine of the overloaded ships with refugees.

But one has to consider the time: no one of the US officials could imagine what was going on in Germany in reality. The refugees could be spies or worser. Where to put those people. And more ships were on the way! If they would have known, this war in Europe is going 6 years in Europe, they would found a solution, I think and send them back after the war was over. But they couldn't know at this time too.

But they could have improve the hygienic conditions, spend medicaments, the number of dead would have been reduced to a minimum.

with the separate mention of refugee boats and of Britain in regard to the Holocaust, there is the matter of the British mandate in Palestine systematically turning away Holocaust survivors and refusing them entry into the country, putting some in prison/camps or sending back, as in the known case of the "Exodus".

As I recall, some of these refugee vessels were deliberately run aground on the Palestine coast if they successfully evaded the British naval security screen.

Well looking at that site you can sort of see why they might think it was a hoax, and if Jews were systematically wiped out why were there so many left at the end of WW2, so much for German efficiency.

I still believe it happened, I can see why some people could think that the Jews might have exaggerated it, to big up their case, but not why everyone else went along with it

As I have said before on this thread. My father in law was involved in taking many people from different backgrounds and religions to "the statement house". Where they told their story prior to the War Crimes trials.

The "Holocaust" happened, but not just to the 6 million jews, but to the 4 million disabled, mentally ill, gypsies, political refugees, so called inferior races and the like.

My father in law told me a story of a father and son who stood up to the Germans in Tunisia. They were captured and tortured but never gave up their accomplices. As a result all their family was taken to Italy where all 27 people "died". The father and son were taken to Germany. The son ended up in a Death Camp, Belsen. He survived but by the time he went to tell his story in 1947, he had been told that all his family were dead, as were many of his friends.

Earlier in this thread (#42), I mentioned that George Lincoln Rockwell was one of the first holocaust "deniers" to go public. On youtube, I found a snippet of a radio interview with Rockwell, in which he elaborates on his warped ideas concerning blacks, Jews, and the holocaust. It's actually kind of sickening how he rationalizes his conclusions. The interview was recorded in the mid-1960s. It's a little over 6 minutes long and, if you want to know pure fear, please give it a listen. The fear I'm referring to comes from the fact that so many people have bought into his nonsense.
