But in common language, almost everyone says "American" for any north American, and everyone says "English" for anyone from the islands. It is so in every language I know. Among ourselves, no one distinguishes your tribes, if they are all London-controlled But it will be different if Scotland is independent. Then everyone will distinguish one from the other |

Russia wants to be friendly with Ukraine. Without unwelcome interference from the west, relations would be much easier. Scotland does not have interference from distant countries who know nothing about it

You misunderstood me effCup. I did not say that I asked the British about Aussie sleeping habits. I just said I posed that same questions to the British in what I call "the British thread" which is: Questions for our British friends?? .

Even though I think that Scottish independence is perfectly justified if London's patronizing doesn't change soon, it's naive to believe that there will be no interference from outside. Germany is in favor of an independent Scotland. The current Scottish government has already set up some sort of trade relations office in Berlin. An independent Scotland is too small and economically too weak to counter the threat of becoming another victim of Germany's export-oriented economy. This has nothing to do with Scotland's historical differences with England. Same goes for Ireland. The other side of the coin is the problematic attitude of the ruling circles in London. They are practically driving the Scots to leave the UK. It is my opinion that Britain's interests were best served within the EU and it would have been much better for the EU as well if they remained. There should be a balance of powers inside the EU. What we have now is a German hegemony, something the British under Edward Heath and Margaret Thatcher aspired to become until they committed economic suicide. Today they think trading with the Commonwealth is going to save them. Well, if they think that the purchasing power of Botswana or Guyana is stronger than that of France or the Netherlands, good luck to them.
