Is photographic porn being faded out?

Quite a complicated question here...

With the advent of broadband and multimedia phones capable of streaming video faster and faster, more and more porn sites are offering more video content than photographic content...

The publication of pornographic magazines has been diminishing over the past decade with the internet taking over more of their subscription basis... with the internet offering so many choices for multimedia porn, good old photography seems to be lacking on many sites, with them choosing to offer only the basics in photos and then bolstering the site with video...

So do you feel that video porn is leaving photographic porn behind for it to be fazed out?

There will always be a niche market for high erotic art ranging from the suggestive to the explicit. Most of what we're going to see in the future is mass-produced cookie-cutter crap for the idiot masses.

I do see the golden age of men's magazine pictorials as dead art. IMO, the golden age started in the 1950s when Pb couldn't even show a full breast and died out in the 1980s when penetration shots were still censored. VEF contributors do a great service keeping these images circulating.

As I say, if you want to shell out $60.00 for a Taschen press coffee table book of erotic photograph, you can do that. You can't find the soft sensual pink shots of 1970s H*stl*r, P*nth*usu, or Cl*b on your newsstand, and only a few places on the internet.

I've just been given BOTH the big C's. Yeah, dyskleksa first, then they took 2/3 rds of my liver away. I'm down to one pint a day (at least it's Glenmorangie) and now you're telling me porns finished? Is football finished?

The Internet is going to rule the roost, but there will always be a place for printed porn - how good it might be however is a different matter entirely. For instance, nearly all of the PRP magazines are now a pile of shit, to the point where I finally gave up on buyingb the UK Club International at the beginning of this year for a myriad of reasons:

- the amount of fake-titted/tattoed models
- price (and the occasional hiking of the price for the addition of an unwanted crap DVD)
- paper quality: the new mags are printed on what feels like bog paper
- the regular feature model, who is very ordinary and augmented
- the total number of models featured

In all, I can compare an issue of Club today with one from even five years ago and the difference in quality is noticeable. Even the covers are shite - I can just compare them with the one on my avatar and there's no comparison.

I think PRP have realised that the "free" dvds were going straight to the bin. They have stopped them. Who wants to watch a softcore movie when you can watch the hardcore

We as humans all have different ways of learning and watching.
Many of us need to feel the element. (The Blu-ray or the book or mag)
Others are very content with just the visual.
Cool.

Photographic porn printed on paper? Yes, it will be phased out eventually. When you think of the high-end photography sites, photos are still being produced in extremely large quantity. Adding a few vids at these sites seemed a logical step but, to totally replace photos? Nah. There will always be a great attraction to that perfect still shot and for the editors of such to manipulate them to even greater ends.

Porn on paper is like LPs. With CDs and now downloads they are still hanging on. Paper porn will never end but will greatly diminished.
