This is the entire comment as far as I know. He is not advocating just shrugging off attacks but taking measures ahead of time to prevent or mitigate any attacks.

Everything in that 5th columnist's boilerplate tweet is BS, and will do nothing to prevent further attacks. When it is a crime to actually name the enemy, no other measures will make a lick of difference.

I think that is undrstandable though as the original poster deliberately cherry picked what he wanted from a particular speech and ignored what did not fit his world view.

As a person who has studied the history of Islam and the Middle East, in an actual school, and as someone who has studied post-Enlightenment Western Civilization, I can tell you the following:

1. Islam and Jihad are inseparable. Mohamed did not rise from Exile to Prophet by curing the sick and making the blind to see, and Islam did not spread from Medina to Mecca, from Mecca to the border of Francia and China because Mohamed sent missionaries out along the Silk Road to tell people to seek peace from within. Islam spread through out the world by conquest and violence. Islam and Jihad are inseparable and to consider any other argument is self deception.

2. Islam had a Renaissance already. Following the failure of the Third Siege of Vienna, and the subsequent defeats in Russia, the Ottoman Empire (the Islamic Super Power in all of history, possibly the greatest power never to possess a nuclear weapon) took a couple centuries of introspection. When they observed Napoleon's conquests, they attempted to re-make their kingdom and military by his example. The influence of Napoleon grew in the Mediterranean Islamic nations until the 1920s, when the Muslim Brotherhood formed to re-assert Islamic culture in Westernized Islamic lands. Nearly 60 years later the Islamic revolution would culminate in the overthrow of the Iranian Shah. Escalating terrorism aside (entirely due to the overthrow of the Iranian Shah), things have stayed pretty much that way in the Islamic World.

3. Western Civilization is incapable the solution to the problem. When Thomas Jefferson wrote of the freedom of religion, he said 'What do I care if my neighbor believes in 1 god or 1,000 gods? It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my arm.' In the 200+ years since, all of Western Civilization has embraced this ideal, American or not. This is a great, Classical Liberal value, that each person has an inalienable right to see his own god in his own way, or to seek no god at all. To say otherwise would pull out from under every westerner the very foundation of every value that they hold true. And yet, the history of Islam and the nature of Islam show us that it is completely incompatible with Western Civilization.

My point? There is an ugly time coming in the future. It is a time that I hope I do not live to see. It will be a time when Western Civilization is confronted with the survival of it's people and it's culture subjugation under Islamic religious rule. I know what will happen, and it will mean a very brutal, very bloody, very definite response which will pull the rug out from under the idea that every person has a right to seek their own god in the manner that they choose.

I don't see the fall of Western Civilization and I don't see the elimination of Islam from the Earth. What I foresee is an eventual reassertion of the traditional boundaries and that will be accomplished through violence. If I'm wrong, then no one will be happier.
