I had to patiently explain to my American colleagues that this draw was a first rate match for the reasons well put above.

Augurs well for an excellent series, I reckon; both sides have bloodied each other's noses but England win the first round.

(I've been looking forward to this for sooOO long.)

I don't altogether blame them; watching the opposition bat against England without even the ghost of a sniff of a wicket falling will be my punishment in Hell. There are few torments to compare with that one, and I have endured it only too often.

Being a work day the folks of Brisbane must have decided that working would be a more pleasurable experience than watching our bowlers get flogged.

I can't wait until the 3rd test which is in my neck of the woods.

Hmmm! Planning on winning at Adelaide, eh? You forget Mitch Johnson is dropped.

It's just having to listen to Neville Oliver's commentary Scounds, that's the problem.
I've pretty much worn out the tape of that '89 series.
Day 1 Adelaide
I remember when they just used to go out and play, there was none of this National Anthem b/s.
Not helped by the fact that ours is so horrible.
Jeez! Good start.

I'm making some changes to the Australian batting line-up.
The way Clarke is going I'm dropping him and bringing in Lara:

I'm listening to the radio broadcast. Katich run out by Trott for a duck without facing a ball & punter also going for a first ball duck in the first over. This is unbeleivable. And now Clarke has gone as well. Just what's going to happen next is anyones guess.

What's going to happen is Australia all out for 245.

This after winning the toss and opting to bat on a pretty good strip under a clear blue sky.

I watched the early overs and a poor decision by Watson on the run out, Trott had time to take a couple of steps. aim and run out katich. Ponting and Clarke soon followed. Then that man Hussey, yet again, digs the Aussies out of a very big hole.

Tomorrow should be intersting.
