I agree with that. The fish rots from the head down. Banks and corporations are hardly the only ones accountable if our elected 'government' representatives let them write the tax legislation themselves.

The whole thing takes place in secret sessions in back rooms to which the public has no access. These tax laws, written by lobbyists and partially or completely unread by the relevant government officials, are then ratified without exception. Pretty cheeky shitbags.

Unfortunately, this is now the common modus operandi within any major industrialized nation. Neoliberalism in its stinking essence so to speak. The affected population has only minimal, and in most cases, absolutely no influence on such decisions. One could call that a economic dictatorship.

Sepp Blatter: Hope Solo accuses ex-Fifa president of sexual harassment

US goalkeeper Hope Solo has accused former Fifa president Sepp Blatter of sexual harassment.

The World Cup winner, 36, says the incident happened at the 2013 Ballon d'Or awards, before she went on stage to present an award.

In an interview with Portugal newspaper Expresso, Solo - who has 202 caps - said: "I had Sepp Blatter grab my ass."

Blatter, 81, denied the incident took place, with his spokesman telling BBC Sport: "This allegation is ridiculous."

Noticeable for me today is that I am de-frosting my freezer compartment. I bought the fridge-freezer in July 2005 and this is my first time defrosting it. I think this is going to take a while...

I am a cheap bastard. I will never pay AN Other to do a job I can do myself, though quite often I will play the mañana card and so the job simply doesn't get done at all. I just looked in the freezer this afternoon and assessed that the ice has reached a stage where mañana doesn't pass muster any more. When I am finished I will have almost doubled the freezer space.
