I´d say that we´re still a decent percentage of the fans. I´m 55 by the way,and was a major SW-fan in the beginning. Not so keen on the next three movies, though in parts, they contained some great stuff and characters. I will probably see the movie early next year,so I would be interested to hear views from you that already been to the cinemas for this one.Always interesting to hear both the good and the bad reviews. I´m a little concerned that Disney has made it a bit glossy, and geeky/dorky,but I hope that I´m mistaken. Also that they are a little to politicly correct, trying to incorporate to much, without stepping on toes.I just hope that I´m wrong,so that it´s exiciting and dark... |

Thoughts on Ep. 7 (don't worry, no spoilers)
So just got back from seeing Episode 7 and give it a
Out of respect for all Star Wars fans, I won't give away any major plot points (although some of your buds have already probably posted the opening credits and you can find spoilers all over the internet), but everything worked well! Really loved the character of Kylo Ren. His story is very captivating and it was refreshing to see a villain in the Star Wars franchise that contained threads to the Sith legacy while creating one of its own. It did resemble Episode 4 a little too often, but introduced some new characters and plenty of potential for expanding the Star Wars Universe.

I'm in my mid-60s, and saw the original 3 films at the first opportunity that I had. I didn't rush out to see the 2nd 3 films, but I also liked them a lot more than other people seemed to do - I figured that it was George Lucas' universe, not the 'StarWars-ies' (like Trekkies, but even more obnoxious... ) I seldom go to theater screenings now, there are too many annoyances like talking, cell phone use as video recorders, etc... So I'll probably see this new one once it becomes available as a blu ray rental.

One of the reasons why as I get older I tend to go to movies with more adult-orientated audiences (and I don't mean pornos ). Just my two cents on the Blu-Ray Star Wars movies, Episode 4 is best viewed in its original form, not the Special Edition. We all know Han shot first Episode 5 is better in the Special Edition, and Episode 6 is best in the original format as well. Seriously, cramming more characters and aliens in each frame doesn't equate to a better movie, IMO.

I thought Episode 7 was amazing. Took all the best elements of the original trilogy and put a new spin on it to start a new trilogy.

I haven't seen the film yet.
I'll wait for the DVD to come out One thing.....Star Wars relies heavily on the bad guys sounding like posh British folk and the resistance sounding like extremely poor downtrodden American chaps. Is the new Movie different? If not, then whoever succeeds Palpatine, gets my nod as a..... Super Moderator Ban everything with straight abandon

Ep. 7 is film for people with 60 second attention spans.
I saw Episode 7 today & was somewhat underwhelmed. Visually it's just what you'd expect but Disney really played it safe with the story & basically re-hashed the original but without any of the charm or space for much characterization. There's hardly a 60 second moment in the film where a special effect or alien / robot extra appearing. That made the plot ever so thin. Die hard fans will probably enjoy it but if you are expecting anything surprising it won't be found. You're just seeing 'Star Wars' Episode IV made with ten times the budget + digital effects. The script wasn't too bad but nothing to write home about.
