It was just a heads up by brudor that there is another thread with her, which could be solved and merged.

egafd / iafd - performer profiles: mistakes - duplicates - missing info
Sometimes there are missing information, duplicate profiles, mistakes in egafd and iafd.
If something like this shows up in an ID-thread, please post the info in this thread. TIA

Posted this in the help section but I think it's better directed here:
Old ID Requests? I was looking through my old Threads yesterday, and I noticed that it went back to a certain date, but seemed to be missing much older ID requests that I vaguely remembered making. I know that unsolved requests get moved to certain places, but I'm not sure if they would disappear from my thread list or not. So I guess what I'm asking is: Are they archived somewhere, or are they gone for good? Was there an incident years ago that might have wiped some of the old threads?

When a request is moved to the Mystery Box, it ceases to become a thread and in effect is now a post within the Box (only the first post is moved). Therefore if you had it marked in your subscribed threads section, the system will not recognize it. There is workaround as described in the 'Welcome to the Mystery Box' page at the front of all the boxes as follows: Quote:
If you don't have any luck finding your missing material you could always post a new request and keep a note of the post reference rather that the thread one as suggested above. Last edited by Dick Needle; December 20th, 2018 at 10:10 AM.. Reason: Added user name reference |

The only thing I can add to my colleague's excellent response above is posts are almost never deleted. So they do exist somewhere although it may be in an area not accessible to regular members such as in our various trash bins. In the distant past posts and threads were sometimes deleted but this practice was abandoned years ago. As stated above the most likely cause in this case is thread subscriptions being lost due to mergers.
I personally keep keywords in my own file names and requests so by conducting a simple search any post can be found if it still exists. If a member active in this section cannot find a post using a keyword search please send me a PM and I'll try it since the Moderators' search would include posts in the bins. |

Special thanks to those behind the scenes who created the 2017 Mystery Box.
I'm sure the MB is a PITA to put together, especially considering how short-staffed MIR is, so big kudos to those who invested the time. At least it isn't as massive as recent years, I suspect due to brudor's sterling input. While I'm at it, thanks to the entire MIR staff for keeping this forum humming another year despite a spate of staff changes. Great work gents! |

Thanks, Immy. We can't do as much as we'd like due to being understaffed; we're barely keeping up with the daily workload. My colleague Dick Needle deserves the credit for keeping the Mystery Boxes organized; he works very hard at it. deezer has been a great help with the daily work but has had to put us second behind his work with egafd, which has become his priority and rightly so. But he still manages to help us here. Thank you to you both. Thanks also to all the members who work here to help others with their requests. Your efforts are in the true spirit of the forum.
I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and we wish you all a happy new year. |
