This sort of belongs in the "What is Woke" thread, but I'd just like to point out that In Germany during the 30's and 40's, being "woke" and "politically correct" meant believing what the nazi Government said and going along with it and grassing up family and friends if they said or did something that the nazi government didn't like. It also meant teachers not so much teaching the kids the subjects they were trained in but teaching the kids what the nazi government wanted them think.

You have that backwards. Woke is opposed to right wing ideology, so the woke thing to do would have been to help Jews and LGBTQ+ people and all the others being persecuted to escape from Germany, or at least do what you can to protect them.

In fact there were people teaching modern woke ideology, such as Magnus Hirschfeld who went to schools to explain about being LGBTQ+ and how it is completely normal and okay. One of the first things that the Nazis did when they came to power was burn his clinic down and prevent him from speaking at schools, which is similar to what is happening today with the various bans in the name of "protecting the children" in the US.
