That's not as easy as it sounds. There are not that many out there. If you have suggestions for good free download hosts that work as well, I would like to hear them because we already have as many as we can find on the list. I contacted their support and complained by the way...

Honestly, AdBlockPlus has turned into a piece of junk and it causes more problems than it's worth.

That's why I use uBlock Origin instead. It works a lot better for every site out there. I gave everyone a solution using one addon that works, plain and simple. If people don't want to give it a shot, then there is nothing more I can do.

I seriously doubt the ad-blocking message has anything to do with downloads not working

I see the same ad-blocking message on a gaming site i use
- I removed the ad blocker 1st time - it still appeared

Its use is 2 fold
- to help gain revenue to keep the site open
- to stop people using easylist in ad-blockers which is well known for breaking plugins
VEF has about 2-3 known plugins that it nobbles if used.

ad-block plus was Ok but ublock origin seems less of a problem
ADP uses far more resources than the rest




Popups / Unders can only do you damage if you have vulnerabilities

The message is BS. I still get that too as a free user with the setup I have and downloads work fine.

I wouldn't mind switching off uBlock just for 1Fichier, but then I expect their detection system to actually work (it still tells me to disable my adblocker) and show us trustful, unobtrusive banner ads, not some self-resizing pop-ups all over the place.

When I try to downlad as a free user, disabling any ad/pop up blocker in Chrome or FF isn't working. I also have Opera installed, without any ad blockers, and that works just fine.

Soon as I sign in to my premium 1fichier I have no problems whatsoever.

I understand they want to make some money here but if they don't fix this they are killing their own business.

- its a well known fact premium users dont get kicked off servers when demand is high

Put up with the price we free users have always paid - no guarantee downloading

The idea that anyone on VEF can flick a switch and everything will be perfect ignores that
availability is all down to supply & demand - us free downloaders are at the back of that queue

The biggest unknown in all of this is how many are silently downloading without issues
which is why selecting 1 example of a failed download for others to test is the best starting point

A hint: in July and August 1fichier usually has offers on the 1 year premium subscription. I've managed to extend my premium account for like €10 per year since 2011-2012 or so, that's about $11-12 per year, and it's totally worth it, specially since it's a preferred host.

Yeah. If you have any viable option to pay for premium those euros are surely worth it. To those who have problems downloading I noticed even 1fichier recommend various down and upload managers to use with their site. There shouldn't be a reason to wade through all those pop-ups with several working managers out there.

Just the access account itself is dirt cheap for a year. Resellers have it at 10 euros currently...

The last couple of times I paid through bank payment, I had no problems whatsoever. It's because credit card companies and paypal etc. refuse to have file hosts as a customer.
