I have been to Boston many times for the marathon. Not to run in it, but to cheer on friends that are running. When the bombs went off is around the time when lots of the non-professional runners would be coming over the finish line to be cheered on and greeted by family and friends. It was the "perfect" time for a terror attack. If there is one "fortunate" thing you can say for the victims (and I hate to use the word fortunate in any way) is that there are doctors, nurses, and EMTs at and around the finish line.
I wasn't able to make it up for the marathon this year or else I would probably have been down in the area of the explosion. |

The ideal of terrorism, is to spread fear and insecurity, they prefer to kill a few, but the ongoing publicity about the injured lifts their cause in to the public eye, on a continuing basis, raising public awareness about their supposed aims or grievances. This more than anything is what they crave. The fact that no single organisation has yet made a claim, is the most interesting aspect, most organisations would have already taken responsibility. |

What was sad about the bombs was grounding on news footage and witnesses interviews - pretty uncertain material to make a real conclusion. But what he sad, that those bombs had less of shrapnel, then it was possible to put in - this is why such ratio of 3 killed to 150+ wounded. If there was shrapnel there would more killed.

Oh crap, it is sad on I-net, that police have found 5 other unexploded bombs. Damn, you Americans, have evaded a pretty big bloodbath, then. If it is true, than "This is how the one can become a believer".

"And people say, "You don't let the terrorists win." They're not f---ing winning. It's there. And I know people say, "Oh we don't know if it's a terrorist." Yes, we do. Whoever did that — whoever did that thing — wasn't doing it for any other reason. Clearly they failed in achieving the number of deaths and carnage that they were trying to get. This wasn't some brave commando that snuck into a military installation and put a limpet mine on the side of a battleship, and snuck out, fearing for his own life. This was some f---ing f--- who went into a public place and left something there that they knew was going to blow up. That's not a solider, that's a terrorist. That's not a soldier."
Craig Ferguson on the events in Boston. Is Brother scoundrel writing for Mr. Ferguson?
