Pontification on Porno vs Prostitution

There always seems to be much pontification on subjects here in VEF land, so I was wondering what you folks out there would think about whether there is a difference between prostitution and being a porno actress?

Even though I personally think there MIGHT be a difference, I am damned if I can tell what it is. At the end of the day it is money for sex.

Or is it???

Here's the main difference.A porn actress is usually too good for my sorry ass, but a prostitute will happily love me if I got the cash.

Prostitution is usually associated with all sorts of nastiness such as trafficking, pimps, beating, drugs and so on.

Porn on the other hand is a lot safer and dare I say glamorous given pornstars can make money online at the minimum effort as well as in a controlled environment of a porn set.

Also, in the old days there were performers such as Veronica Hart who could actually deliver quite a bit of dialogue - there were many great movies made in the 80s in fact.

I'm surprised to see an adult asking this question to be perfectly honest.

I don't know about trafficking, but the other items you mention are regular occurrences in the porno world. Remember the sad tale of poor Haley Paige? And remember the neanderthal man, "Brian Surewood", the guy who murdered a little kid in a road rage incident? He was accused by a porn actress of rape, but no one believed her because she was just a porn slut.
Watch some modern American porn, if you can stomach it, and witness the endless nasal sniffing from the drug soaked "actors".

BTW, porn stars are hookers to thousands of virtual johns, and the session lasts for decades, as this board is a testament to. Don't you suppose some of these classic actresses might not be too thrilled to see themselves portrayed as cocksucking sluts into perpetuity?

I've made my point man - I won't get into a long discussion about this. The poor souls I see downtown in my city have nothing common whatsoever with porn actresses regardless of origin (European, American, Japanese what have you).

A porn star can refuse to do a scene and no one will beat her senseless.
Porn stars are, theoretically, tested for STD's on a regular basis.
Porn stars have adoring fans. Hookers have adoring bail bondsmen.
Pornography between consenting adults is legal.
I'm sure there's more.

When viewed from a production standpoint, porn isn't even sex, it's modeling. It's unique among all forms of modeling in that it's the one form of modeling that cannot be faked or simulated(we are talking about HC porn here), and therefore to create porn, actual sex has to take place, but the sex is not the end goal of the encounter. Creating the imagery of what the sex looks like is.

Look at it this way: to create any other type of modeling imagery, any part of the resultant image can be created by substituting in some element that either is not actually present, or does not actually exist. But for porn to be created in a way that the viewer will accept, real people must engage in real sexual conduct to create the imagery, be it photos or video. There is no substitution of simulated performers (now really, do you want to watch Peter North fuck a Real Doll?), there is no CGI of the action, and the setting doesn't actually matter, so long as it doesn't get in the way. Even so, what the performers are doing is creating imagery for the viewers to view, and nothing more than that.

As such, it isn't sex. It just looks like it. The performers don't get paid to have sex, they get paid to model what sex looks like. It's modeling.

But to create it, real sex must occur. And that makes it unique.
