Kevin here. G'evening mates. Oh how I wish I could be anywhere in Australia now. While you guys are basking in the summer heat Chicago, in the midwest of the U.S.A is being pounded by a winter blizzard. It's not just Chicago that is in old man winter's snowy and icy grip, but the entire midwest, southeast and eventually the northeastern states with heavy snow and 35 miles per hour of wind, and to make matters worse plunging temperatures tonight that will freeze everything solid.

My car, my car! I may not be able to get the doors open tomorrow. I have lock-deicer, and I have this spray can loaded with an isopropyl alcohol solution that I can spray on parts of the car to melt ice, but still it will be a big mess.

It's 33 F here and light snow.

Not cold enough to accumulate.

It's Summer time in some parts of Australia.

Perth supposed to have a high of 101 today.

Most people cover up as we have very high rates of skin cancer. Lots of education about at schools and ad campaigns on TV ect... Plus getting sunburn here would be far worse than the UK. I've had second degree burns from sun burn. But I have a complexion that would not look out of place in the UK. I'm blonde with fair skin.

Let's hope some prowling eyes in your neighbourhood don't mistake you for a car thief while you're trying to open the door.

No one goes out of their warm homes to wander the streets in a blizzard. If they do the wind will blow them into the street and they might get hit by an 8 ton snow plow!

Yep. When there's cloud cover, it doesn't matter if it's 35+. The times where I've been outside and it's 25 early but the sun's out, it sears your skin and that annoys me more.

The event is between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars. A couple of things I have noticed.

I'm surprised you didn't realise the game wasn't at the MCG?

If you can somehow hold the Australian Open in Chicago, I guarantee the temperature will increase significantly as soon as the event begins. It's like clockwork over here.

In the Middle East, hell was a place where one burned for eternity without ever being consumed. The Vikings saw hell as a place where one was trapped in ice for all eternity without ever being frozen solid.

I suppose the Mods have nightmares of being overrun by trolls and unable to quit.

In one of his more inebriated moments, E confided to me that their real nightmare was having their expenses accounts scrutinised.
