Most of them were converted around the millennium when file sizes had to be much smaller, it’s the same with the photo scans they’re all pretty low res. I wonder who has the masters of all the pics and movies now, they could make them look amazing but I imagine they’re long gone.

An online friend of mine have looked into this.
It seems like CC-website underwent a change of ownership.
This site is now run by International Media Company BV, which is the same company that runs, for instance, Club Seventeen (Which is the website for the Seventeen magazine). Previous owner was, to my recollection, Silwa.

But, owner ... I bet they have a licence or something, Peter Theander probably have a straw into the money-sack still.

Quality of the movies wasn't that bad, back in the day. Remember, we had 800x600 monitors.
Also, if you have illegal copies of the CC movies, you may just as well have copies of copies of copies. Some pirates crop and render new copies with their own watermark, which makes the quality significally worse. Especially when done multiple times. I've seen copies which is so bad it is mind-boggling.

Also, there ARE a lot of copies around that actually comes from worn out VHS

Yeah they were great for the time. I downloaded mine from the CC site and they’re still perfectly watchable, it would be wonderful to get them remastered as film transfers to HD so well but I’m guessing that the original masters were held behind one of those big doors at the HQ so who knows what happened when they moved out. They must have taken up a lot of space!

I think the pics must have been done late 90s by CC themselves while they were still in business, they’ve held up really well to be fair the colours on them are so vivid! Lots of pics that didn’t make it into the magazines too. It’d be nice to see them in a higher res but I think we’re pretty lucky with what we’ve got there.

It’d be great to find out whether they still exist, imagine being able to go through that lot!
