I would guess they thought that was better than going to the NAACP or the ACLU for money.

Is the NRA to blame since you have more guns in Australia now than you had before Port Arthur?

I don't think the number of guns in Australia is at issue, either. Rather, it's the number of mass shootings--none since Pt. Arthur--and debate about the possible role of legislative changes introduced in response by John Howard's govt.

I would hazard to guess you have been more successful at keeping your 66 IQ residents - who state they want to walk around shooting people - away from guns or sharp instruments or you export them to other countries.

The media do beat it up here. Yeah there are guns and the only semi auto's are pistols. We got rid of semi auto rifles after Port Arthur.

Our attitude towards guns is so different to the US. For the amount of guns here, very few people get shot and killed. The organised gangs are about the only people who have hand guns. They are hard to get for the every day person and we can not defend our homes with firearm's. We lose them if we do it even legally.

Nope, only hear about what I see on the internet. Unlike most people of Asian descent, I don't like traveling. Australia and New Zealand are beautiful countries from what I hear.

Your population appears much more law abiding than ours. I do believe it is because of geography and population make up. We have sizable minorities that do 3x to 6x the rate of crime of the national average. They are much more influenced by gangs and drugs than other racial groups. We can't seemingly control them, I mean we have the largest percentage of the population in jails and crime is still rampant. The nearness of the Narco states and our drug addicts in our country just fuels the violence/crimes. I read that 80 to 90% of the people murdered in our big cities are criminals (and this is by far the largest numbers of homicides in our country).

Wish we could find a solution.
