Exactly what it says on the tin. When did it become commonplace that all girls in softcore top shelf mags had to pose in such a way as to show their bumhole off. I'm sure it used to be much more coy.

A pose where the girl was displaying and offering her anus for the viewer was already part of most sets by the late 70s in top-end Paul Raymond mags in the UK - just take a look at the relevant threads for Club International and Men Only here at VEF - and in Gold Star Publications and Sullivan publications too.

By the time that Raymond Publications relaunched Escort and Razzle in the mid-80s those magazines - available in most UK newsagents at the time - usually had a photo or two of the model showiing her bumhole in every set.

I would guess the situation in the USA was similar.

By the mid to late 90s most top shelf mags, UK and USA, featured girls posing to show their bum-holes.

I'm sure one of our resident porn-archaeologists could give you a more thorough answer, but I think my overview is a good approximation.
