I've been working with MICROSOFT until WINDOWS 7 even knowing about the NSA-Key and the other spyware from MICROSOFT. This COERCION(and that's what it is) to upgrade to WINDOWS 10 is such an embarrasing thing and so i decided to switch to an (hopefully)spyware-free LINUX-distribution(LINUX MINT) about 2 years ago. Please don't get me wrong, i also got two drives with WINDOWS 7 and WINDOWS 10 installed, blocking all spyware and tracking known to me. If I decide to upgrade to another OS then it should be MY decision to do so, and that it was me going angry and sad! Only way to finally end my "MICROSOFT-journey" would be an stoping of support off WINDOWS 7(and not in 2020) - that would be a real "neck-braker". Last edited by sledge; May 31st, 2016 at 10:12 AM.. The nag-ware pop-up seems to be getting worse. A total of five Win10 pop-ups appeared today and I was not continuously logged in all day. All removed via Task Manager. And the next monthly MS updates are not due until next week ....

I hope someone can help us. For unknown reasons, my wife has installed windows 10 on her computer. Well guess what: I am the one that has to make her computer work. I was able to get her to a yahoo window, that is where we have our email. That is about all she does is check email and watch youtube videos. Here is my problem: I cannot get any sound out of her computer. I have check the videos in question and they work on my machines. What is the "trick" to generate sound in windows 10?
Any help will be appreciated. |

This might be a conspiracy too far, but since I cancelled the scheduled update, I have had repeated problems with Windows loading at startup, and I have to recover from earlier files. I also get random shutdowns(usually when I am 90+% through a long slow download, but that's another conspiracy)
I am seriously considering getting a Macbook

Instead of getting a Macbook though, download and install Linux first (I've been playing with Mint Cinnamon). Its free and getting better all the time. Pretty sure that when Win 7 is dead I'll just delete it and continue on with Linux. By that time it will be better than it is now. Give it a try. You might like it. |

Make sure updates are not set to automatic, 10 is pre-checked under option updates. Also uninstall kb30355083. And watch for it, they'll try to sneak it back in under important updates.

It is now a week or so later and I have 3 PC's running W-10. No significant problems. I like W-10 just fine and it is somewhat faster. W-10 is ok but in my view a worthwhile but not a very significant improvement over W-7.
