Same goes for royals. The nationality doesn't matter. In addition, they are arch-reactionary dudes. Even if they give themselves officially a democracy-friendly paintjob.

Secretly, they still want back the good old times with a nation of exemplary butlers and slaves. They certainly miss their Ius primae noctis (droit du seigneur) too. I am convinced that their worst nightmare is a free, self-determined human beeing. A free man / woman don't knows commands like :

sit
stay
fetch
jump
bark
bite
admire
shut up
bend over for kick in the ass

Well, all these commands you have also to master at your Job. At least if you don't want to be unemployed. Or unemployed and divorced.

The Royal Family more than pay for themselves, many times over in fact, and i would sooner have them that an elected head of state, another politician bleeding the taxpayer with his/her expenses.

I like Charles, he is not afraid to stand up for stuff he believes in, he'll make a fine King, as will Willian one day.

Guys, the Royals cannot hit back, show the same respect for them as the rules state you should show for models and celebs, feel free to venture an opinion but keep it civil, or the thread will be binned.

If I was unhappy with the present constitutional arrangements and the fact that they enjoy the support of the majority of my fellow citizens, I would go and live in a handy republic.
