Default Anti-Porn tv special around '87-'88?

I thought if anybody could help me identify or find this tv "special" it would be this forum. I remember around '87-'88 if I remember correctly, there was a 1-hour tv special that used to air for a while in the afternoon in the US. I believe the name of the show may have been "Pornography is Real", but this is just coming form memory so I can't be sure of the title. Anyways it was an anti-porn special that interviewed "experts" that spoke out against porn, and I remember it quite vividly because I saw it on tv several times because they showed lots of magazine covers and other erotica (censored of course).

I've always wanted to see that again over the years because A) now that I'm much older I would love to hear some of the gems they must have had the "experts" say, and B) I'd love to see some of those old vintage porn bits they showed (even though they were censored).

Does anybody remember seeing this back then? I am unable to find out anything about that special.

The closest thing I know is "Not a Love Story"

Default Two Hour Specials

I don't know of any documentaries, but the subject was covered by American TV in a couple of dramas. One with George C. Scott in a quest to find his runaway daughter, and another about Shauna Grant.

Hmm, I guess this must be a real hard one to find then. I checked out "Not a Love Story" and that isn't it. That one was new to me though so thanks. I can't find a single thing about this documentary but I remember it airing several times way back, usually in the late afternoon hours. It wasn't dramatized mostly I remember it being narrated with lots of images and interview slips speaking about the "harm" and "damage" it causes viewers. Well if anybody else has any idea please feel free to share.

It might have been a local production. I know that Charles Keating (before he went to prison for embezzling thousands of people's pension funds) financed the production of several anti-porn "documentaries".

Interesting. I never thought about it being local. It aired on UHF if I recall correctly. I remember it looking very slick. I guess that's one I'll never track down.
