How do experienced VEF users UPLOAD to rapidshare.com?
Hi all,
I am not a beginner, so I don't need the basic info, please don't respond with something terribly basic before reading all of this posting. I use a Windows XP system. Wenn es Leute gibt, die sowas langatmiges wie diesen Text lieber auf deutsch lesen möchten, kann ich den Text auch übersetzen, die Angelegenheit ist mir enorm wichtig. I have used rapidshare.com for several years, and I am a registered, paying user. Originally, I always uploaded each file individually in the normal interface page, waited until it was finished, then uploaded the next, all manually, and very time-consuming. Then someone here at VEF told me about RapidUploader and I used it, but soon afterwards I found out about the RapidShare Manager (RSM) and have since been using it, since it is apparently much more efficient and easier to use, both for uploads and downloads. Since I started with these "improved" programs I've had endless problems. Of course, I can go back to uploading individual files manually, but before I invest all of the time and nerves required I thought I'd ask some of the more experienced forum users:
I've spent hours, nearly days, just trying to get a 5-part winrar file for a film uploaded and online, and I'm at the end of my nerves and patience. I wasn't having these problems with my uploads a week or so ago, is there believable evidence that these might be Rapidshare problems, and that they are losing in credibility? I was always more than satisfied in the past! I'd sure appreciate some info from some of the experienced users who have used Rapidshare.com a lot (not rapidshare.de!). Ich kann auch diesen langatmigen Text auf deutsch schreiben, wenn viele Anwender hier sowas leichter lesen können... HELP/HILFE! Greetz, vampi Last edited by vampi; March 18th, 2008 at 06:27 PM.. |

If you have access web server in a good datacenter, try uploading to it with ftp and then use RS remote upload feature; you get to use your choice of ftp program, and transfers from my webserver to RS go at about 100Mb/s
Obviously, this uses up your traffic allowance twice over, once for the upload and once for the transfer. If you have remote zip utility, you can also wrap your file with a random jpg to change the file signature in the case of deletion, without having to re-up the big file. |

Hi Vampi,
what could be a problem is that you do to many simultanious uploads or are down and uploading at the same time thats also not good. When you do that you overstretch your connection resulting in damaged uploads so set the upload to 1 at a time when you didn't already do that think that will fix your problems. I'm only familiar with RapidUploader and in that you also can set the "Default Upload Network" i'm no fan of Cogent and mostly use Level3. Hope it helps. |

Hi Dub,
Thanks for the suggestion, but have you seen the RapidShare Manager from Rapidshare, in addition to the RapidUploader? The software can be downloaded directly from the Rapidshare site, and makes it possible to up- and download up to 5 files at once. Both programs have options to limit the number of uploads running at once, I've set it down to 1 but it didn't seem to make any difference, both programs stutter and stop - it's the same whether 1 upload doesn't work or 5 uploads don't work... But thanks about the tip for the Default Upload Network, I'll give that a try in the morning! Greetz, vampi |

Problem with Rapidshare?
I'm trying to upload some vids and pic sets, and today (24/07/2008) and have made three attempts....each time at the end of the upload I get the "display secure and non-secure screen" click OK and the screen refreshes, but the file or files I've uploaded don't appear in the list!! Frustrating, and depriving the forum of what I hope is some good stuff.........anyone else had the problem, or know why this is happening?

I uploaded almost a gig of stuff to RS yesterday (23/7) with no problems whatever.
The only similar problems I have ever encountered with RS are an upload dying in the middle for no apparent reason; and occasionally an upload is slow to appear on my list of RS files. |
