why do uploaders upload ?

I have wondered for years what is the motivation of uploaders to make available so much stuff to the rest of us ?

I can understand that some people upload the odd file or two as a way to give back for stuff they have downloaded in the past, but there are some people or groups that seem to be so prolific that it must be their full time occupation, especially on usenet

Is there some kind of sponsorship or rewards system that allows people to make a living out of it in someway. Or is it that they are completely selfless ???

For me personally, I like to post stuff because I've seen sooooooo much over my lifetime that I no longer am interested in porn/nudity; however, I do realize I had thousands of people turn me on to pics and vids over the years and this is kind of my re-payment. I know so many sites on the web others would never find and feel it's my civic duty to share their content. The only reward we get is thanks from the members, and countless thefts from lurkers. I appreciate the thanks, but it is not necessary for my ego.

Right now, I have a thread with over 300 posts of 30+ pics = 9000+ pics and only 8,000 views. I've seen others with fewer pics and hundreds of thousands of views. That doesn't matter. I pick a thread I like (or start one) and I contribute because I know where to locate such material. It also gives me something to do when I'm bored. I also have a degenerative brain disorder which began about 10 years ago which unfortunately keeps me indoors after dark....can't drive at night. TV sucks, I'm sick of reading, the kids are doing their homework, so, I'm posting. When the days start getting longer, you will see less of me here and more of me on the golf course!!!

For the same reason we nudge the guy next to us on the park bench and say "Hey! Look at that woman over there!"

We want to spread the beauty of our favorite, under-appreciated beauties.

Take away the filehost cash rewards and a good % of stuff being posted would disappear
which wouldnt be a bad thing as most of it is simply duplicated content already posted elsewhere

The only reason i've ever shared what I had collected via paysites in the early 00s was other people were actually interested in it...while I never did it on the scale its done today if anyone ever asked for material on bgafd.co.uk of certain models I never hesitated to share what I had but offline via email/even snail mail, more often than not

Its no different to collecting & sharing books,cds,dvds,records,tapes & games
as I've done for ever in a day

They all cost you money...you get your use out of them...so really your not losing anything by sharing them...and in return you may get more unseen content...
valuable knowledge from those in the know..etc

Some people by their very nature want to share things, but if you are part of a forum or anything where a large group of people congregate, you would tend to feel slightly out of it if you didn't make some kind of contribution. I am in the position of having thousands of pics and some clips and being able to give back after taking a lot of stuff(which I did when I first joined) makes you feel more of a member and less likely to be called a leech or a lurker. I've made my reputation on here over 3-4 years with exclusive scans and stuff I've found now-I didn't have to, but I felt I should. I hope it inspires others to do likewise.

cos it's good to share.!!!!...LOL....

It's always nice to find people with similar tastes to yourself...whether it be music...art....literature.....or....best of all....naked ladies!!!.....So....my motivation is to share some of MY favourite ladies / pics.....and hopefully find some like minded souls who appreciate what I appreciate.....

No ulterior motives...just pure and simple...enjoyment of the female form!

I'd feel ashamed if I didn't. Because I download stuff from here. If no one upped anything there would not be a VEF. You'd be logging in with no new posts.

I can appreciate that some people want to give back, but I still can't believe the likes of videoot, amp25, teevee, robocock who upload 100s of GB per day onto usenet do it because they are simply giving back

Otherwise in a single day they would have given back more than most people give back in a lifetime

Why do uploaders upload?

Well for me it's a bit of fun, a hobby and a chance to give something back to VEF instead of just taking all the time.

I only upload to VEF and that's because of the people here, if I didn't like this site and the people who use it then I wouldn't upload anywhere.

I use Rapidshare so I don't get anything in return, in fact it costs me a few quid each month for a premium account so that my files stay alive for any member who wants them.
