spooky name coincidences
If you combine the first names of John Lennon and Paul McCartney, you get Pope John Paul the first and pope John Paul the second.
If you combine the first name of George Harrison and second name of Pete(r) Best, you get George Best. If you combine the first name of Pete(r) Best and second name of Stuart Sutcliffe, you get Peter Sutcliffe. If you combine the first name of Lorne Spicer and last name of Patrick Mawer, you get Lorne Mawer. .

Ah yes but if I might be a little pedantic here, like Terry Wogan, Paul McCartney wasn't his name-it's James Paul McCartney and Wogan is Michael Terrence Wogan so it wouldn't work with the above. If you however combine Dire Straits & Chris Rea you get Dire-rea and an Oldsmobile with a Lagonda you get an Old Lag

Paul MacCartney was still his name even though his first name was James, and as he used Paul rather than James and everyone knew and still knows him as Paul, then we can use his middle name. By your argument people should not be allowed to use their middle name as though it was their first name even though a lot of people do that. so 'Thrrrrrssspp' to you.
And if I may be a little pedantic here: 'Oldsmobile' and 'Lagonda' are full names and neither name was ever shortened in general use and thus can't be shortened to suit this game. Ha! Shot you down in flames and widdled all over you! .

Actually, the Oldsmobile was the brand of car made by the company started by Ransom E. Olds (he also built the truck known as the REO Speedwagon) and the cars were colloquially known as an "Olds."

If actress Meagan Good married footballer Robert Fuchs she's be a Good Fuchs.
If actress Rebecca Lord married hockey player Miroslav Satan she'd be Lord Satan. |

I'm not saying it shouldn't be allowed, I am merely stating something that not many people know about McCartney & Wogan. There used to be a Lennon & McCartney that played football with each other-I can't remember which team though. Well they do in America-take H Norman Schwartzkopf-what was the H for? Okay I'll give you the cars one, it was actually taken from something that Dave Lee Travis & Mike Read used to do on Radio 1-not quite spooky but hey it was funny at the time. Didn't I mention I had a fire & widdleproof jacket on
How about this one then, Anne Aston and Steve Martin=Aston Martin.

If Isla Fisher had married Barry White, she'd be Isla White (Isle of Wight)
Then, if she'd divorced Big Bazza and married Brian Ferry, she'd be Isla White-Ferry. If Whoppi Goldberg and Peter Cushing got married, she'd be Whoppi Cushing! I'll get my coat.

It isn't really a coincidence, but John Paul II took his name to honor his three predecessors, John XXIII, Paul VI and John Paul I, the only Pope to have done so.
