To get women to change back to a managed or natural bush will require changing how they define what is "gross". I was in college in the mid 80's when a completely shaved pussy was exotic and different. And of course I tried to get girls to shave or let me shave them. Generally, the response was that being hairless was gross and nasty. In later years, i've had women tell me their gyno had told them that being hairless invited yeast infections, and I can attest that several girls I knew got them right after going bald. However nowdays, being bald or severely trimmed is considered to by hygenic, and having significant pubes is "gross".
One other note about the "gross" thing: I grew up in Texas, which is very hot most of the time. In those days women still wore pantyhose when they wore dresses (a thing I was happy to see go away). So I began to notice that some women wore panties under pantyhose, and others didn't. So I started asking about it, and every one said doing it the other way was gross and disgusting. With Panties = "pantyhose aren't panties, and a girl should have something there for the natural secretions". No Panties = "wear pantyhose AND pantyhose? thats nasty, that thing needs to breathe". |

I still think that shaven pubes are a fashion trend and will not be suprised if pubic hair will become more mainstream.

Oh, well, if you must
My wife will do what she wants. She might listen to me, but she'll decide.
She's never trimmed, let alone shaved.

Seems that having a bush is now a sign that your one of the 'elite' gonzo girls as most of the new one's still have shaved pussies. |

What wonderful discussions one finds if only he's patient to look back in older posts. BTW, is it too rude to regulars to complain that I don't understand why jpeg threads are included in the Talk forum and swamp out genuine talk threads? Isn't this why you guys have the Other Stuff forums?
Aaaanyway, to perhaps restart this awesome chat you guys had, I will say that I also like hair down there. As I have mentioned in another thread, I have 150,000 years of evolution conditioning me to find it arousing. At the same time I like it neat and trimmed, not wild and untamed. I see it a bit like normal (head) hair: spider legs on fannies are equivalent to a girl not styling or even combing her hair; natural yes, appealing not so much. On the other hand who wants to see a girl with a shaven head? OK, so I'm pushing the analogy a bit far. I seriously dislike the completely shaved look for the obvious reasons: women end up looking like Barbie dolls or, worse, immature girls. Seriously asexual in both cases. Even worse, skin can be very sensitive down there, so some women can develop razor burn or even pimples after shaving. The only women I have dated who regularly shaved were dancers (the artists formerly known as strippers). All of them did it for their job -they wear very skimpy bikini bottoms for 8-9 hours per night, and they can get very sweaty what with the pole twirling not to mention sitting on guys laps. All of them hated it, mostly for the hassle and the "five 'o clock shadow" itch. Even uglier to me is the "skid mark" or "Fuhrer mustache" left as an afterthought in an otherwise shaved fanny. Adding insult to injury so to speak/ As porn fashions go however this is perhaps the most harmless. Hair can grow back; fake boobs, tatoos or piercing holes cannot be (fully) undone. If and when public tastes change for the better, bushes can be available after a few weeks patience. How about all these women like Janine who ruined their natural looks permanently? Armpits as well?...
Interesting topic.
But guys would you complain as much about armpits shaving as you do about bush shaving? After all, arguments usually used for shaving one's armpits are the same that the one that are used for bush: hygiene, dirtiness, aesthetics... And more interestingly, arguments usually used AGAINST shaving one's armpits are also the same one can use for bush: naturalness, false hygiene considerations and so on (just scroll above posts and replace "bush" by "armpits")... BUT I'me ready to bet that most people who complain about the good old days of natural bushes are not so enthusiastic about natural armpits. Indeed this is a little strange, not only because arguments against and for are the same, but also because natural armpits disappeared only a few years before natural bushes: hairy underarms were the norm (at least in Europe) during the seventies and most of the eighties, whereas the transition between natural and shaved bush is somewhere during the nineties... (in the US both probably disappeared half a decade earlier than in Europe.) Are we conditioned to like women as they were when we reach our sexual maturity? A kind of "perfect icon"? |

Have to say I don't like hairy armpits or legs on a woman. Hairy pussy yes. My GF is trimmed. Her pussy reminds me of Sasha Grey's. Maybe i'm a victim of trends.

I did an internet search using the terms "pubic hair purpose" and I found the following explanations as to why people have pubic hair :-
* To indicate sexual maturity. * The collection of secreted phermones. * To prevent friction during intercourse. * Protection of the sensitive pubic area. * To protect the skin on the pubic area from infections, rashes and irritations. The above prove that pubic hair serves a purpose. To me adult women and men with no pubic hair feels weird and abnormal. Pubic hair patterns vary from woman to woman which makes pussies look different. I feel shaved pussies are boring because they all look the same. |

Actually 2211, I have read that it is believed that we get "locked in" somewhat when we reach our peak. that goes not only for bodies, but hairstyles, clothing styles (I miss the high waisted, skin tight jeans of the 80's for example) and the like.
I think the hygeine considerations are different too. pubic hair helps protect things from getting into a wet, open bodily orifice, while armpit hair, I believe, helps conduct scent from sweat glands (arguably pubes do too, maybe more so) As for leg/pit hair, it depends on the girl. if she is just a little hairy, I find it very feminine, but if she looks like she is carrying a woodchuck under each arm, thats another thing entirely. |
