While I can understand "self-serving", I doubt if they need to "seek" themselves; Buckingham Palace is well signposted. To whom can you be "servile" when you are Royalty? Who do they flatter? On whom to they "fawn"?

I don't buy into the "parasite" view where it affects the Queen in person; not even Prince Charles, much as I would avoid pissing on him if he happened to be on fire. It has already been mentioned once or twice that the Royal estates pay more money in to the Treasury than the Civil List gives out. As ceremonial heads of state go, the Windsors are not expensive.

I would like them to be much less in my face; I am not very interested in ceremonial stuff which makes Britain seem like Ruritania. I would rather have a low key monarchy such as they have in European countries, where the monarchs are so obscure that their own people probably wouldn't recognise them if they went for a stroll. If anything, rather than being servile or fawning or sychophantic, the Royals are up themselves and far too full of their own supposed importance.
