You're kidding, right? Things didn't work that way in ancient Egypt (I majored in history, btw, and took as many ancient history courses as I could as well as studied about ancient Egypt in between classes). You had your lifetime to build your pyramid, and that was that.

About 15 years ago me and a mate volunteered to spend the night in a "haunted" house. This was a house built in 1740 and was in a rural area of county Down Ireland. It belonged to a publican who couldn't sell it because of this haunting. We arrived at 21.00 lit a fire and made some tea. At midnight we rolled out our sleeping bags and settled down for the night. Nothing happened until 2.00am when I heard a woman whisper in my ear (my mate was male) I thought I'd imagined it, but it happened three times. In Gaelic i.e the Irish language this voice said "why are you here, what do you want" My mate had no experience at all, but I was a bit perturbed. Unlike most stories i've heard the room was not cold and doors did not start banging. As far as I know the house still hasn't sold.

As far as I know the house still hasn't sold.*

Fifteen years later and it's still on the market? He's either asking too much for it, or it's definitely haunted!

I wouldn't mind spending a night there myself! Who's with me?

Most haunted houses in the market are very expensive...
I cannot confirm myself but just look for some of those villa's and castles in Scotland and Ierland that are for sale.

Like this one for instance:

Leap Castle

Located in Northern Ireland this castle has been the site of many strange happenings. Built in about 1250, the castle’s purpose was to guard the pass from Slieve Bloom to Munster. Its history is riddled with tales of battles, torture and horror.
One of the most disturbing things about this castle was the discovery of an oubliette. A pit with a large spike at the bottom. Prisoners who were cast into the pit were either impaled on the spike or left to starve at the bottom. When workmen began clearing the pit is took three carts to remove all the human bones within the chamber.
One of the spirits or entities that is rumoured to roam these halls has terrified owners for centuries. It is said to be a small creature with strange eyes and a rotting smell. Locals have seen strange lights coming from the empty castle for years. Now under restoration the new family claims to have experienced a number of strange happenings as well.

Big Grin Stone 'enge

STONEHENGE!

Where a man's a man and the children dance to the pipes of Pan!

--Spinal Tap

Back in 1991 I took a bus ride out to Stonehenge when I was staying at a hostel in Salisbury. It turned out they had the place fenced off so in order to get close to it, you had to pay ten pounds! You were supposed to pay and then cross a tunnel traversing under the road. They also had a souvenir stand where they sold cherry-aide and melted ice cream, and bleedin' Watney's Red Barrel...

Anyway, I thought that was totally tacky and refused to pony up. I enjoyed the view from afar.

Stonehenge -
You didn't miss much. It was "restored" over the past 100 years, it's accepted that nearly every stone has been moved, set in concrete, straightened or placed on top of others, the way English Heritage believe it was originally built.
In other words, it's a con.

You think? Well, that's up to you, he sounds like every other Victorian medium to me, a charlatan about as genuine as Derek Acorah. the fact all these fellas lived well off "donations" from wealthy patrons tells me all I need to know I'm afraid, they took advantage of gullible old fools. And why not? Times were hard, I'd have been doing the same.

That's not to say that he didn't have any psychic abilities. I do think that maybe some of these people did have something, a sensitivity, but perhaps started adding more things themselves to appear more spectacular. Any credibility they might have had went out of the window with their muslin "ectoplasm".

MoD files reveal UFO sightings

Flying Toblerones, mysterious illnesses and "silky-white substances" are among hundreds of close encounters described in previously top-secret files released by the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Skip related content

More than 6,000 pages of material spanning 1994 to 2000 holds hundreds of other-worldly experiences with unidentified flying objects (UFOs) and apparent aliens across Britain.

Aircraft of all shapes and sizes have been witnessed flying over a wide range of locations - including Chelsea Football Club and the former Home Secretary Michael Howard's home in Kent.

One man told police he was physically sick and developed a "skin condition" after an eerie "tube of light" enveloped his car in Ebbw Vale, in Wales, at 10.40pm on January 27 1997.

The file, the fifth released under a three-year project between the MoD and The National Archives, consists of 24 records of sightings, letters and Parliamentary Questions.

Highlights include a man who arrived at his Birmingham home at 4am on March 20 1997, to discover an illuminated blue triangle hovering over his garden. The craft shot off leaving behind a "silky-white" substance on the tree-tops, which he collected in a jam-jar.

And a West Lothian electrician who spotted a "Toblerone-shaped" UFO hovering over a field. A sketch of the craft is included in the report.

Experts believe the records highlight how shapes of reported UFOs have changed over the last half-century.

Dr David Clarke, author of The UFO Files and senior lecturer in journalism from Sheffield Hallam University said: "In the 1950s the next big leap in technology was thought to be a round craft that took off vertically and it's intriguing to note that this is the same period when people began to report seeing 'flying saucers' in the sky."
