Why do you need to keep $75,000 in a Valero convenience store?

I have co-franchise owned and managed Stop n Go (now Valero) and Circle K convenience stores.

The most cash we kept in any store to make change with is about $1,000 and most of it is in a time safe with time drop.

You push the button for $1 and it drops a plastic tube with $20 in $1 and you can't push another button to drop cash again for a couple of minutes. There are also tubes containing four $5 bills, two $10 bills, two $20 bills, a roll of quarter ($10), a roll of dime ($5) a roll of nickels ($2), a roll of pennies (50 cents).

Any large bills received from $20 to $50, no $100 bills allowed, are dropped into a slot into the same time safe and no one can open it but the manager/owner in the morning when the clock on it reaches a certain time period.

Was she going to use that cash to pay for inventory delivery like beer and wine and groceries?

A convenience store gets grocery delivery once a week from their main supplier plus other deliveries from brand names like Mrs. Baird bread or Budweiser or Coca Cola and so on and the total of all of them is not anywhere close to $75,000.

Plus for someone who just went to the bank and got that much $ out, she is not very street smart and very aware of her surroundings.

I have always wondered if I can trust any of the bank employees when you are at the teller window and they have your account pulled up.

They can see everything about you on your account:

how much money you spend, what do you spend it on, how often do you deposit money, the amount of every cash and check deposit, how much is your account balance, what other accounts besides a checking account do you have with their banks, etc etc

Considering what these banks have been doing lately, like in the case of Wells Fargo, stealing customers' information and opening credit cards and bank accounts without those customers' approval to inflate their monthly and quarterly sales reports, I rather keep my money buried in my backyard or in my mattress.
