Well the Australian team is employed again so we might be able to knock something together for the up coming Ashes series. It was looking like England would play the Burrumbuttock first eleven but we'll save them for another time.

Wouldn't have been a tour at all if you hadn't finally got your sorry arses in gear.

Baring some miracle performance I will right now put a shilling on Jimmy Anderson being MOM.

Not many get to have it away at their own end - ok, maybe that couple watching the game from their bed got some hanky-panky under the sheets - and he may still get that elusive 5-for at Old Trafford.

Rowland-Jones has got a hat-trick tho. Not many if any bowler can claim the wicket of the same batsman 3 from 3

Yeah, the way he steamed in their first few overs I thought he was going to win it there and then.

See above - he's certainly fired up enough.

Especially not a master craftsman like Amli.

I'm really looking forward to the next couple of days.

In the day, Jonny Bairstow did make one century, his hundredth test dismissal. I am absolutely delighted for him! He comes across very well in the interviews I have seen with him too.

But are we once again in the flash in the pan moment? A tiring touring side, close to the end of the series, and thinking of home? God I hope not! But the batting does still need some work, in the last two innings it has been a singularly great innings that has allowed England to post a decent target, a change is still very much needed at 2 for example.

Not the easiest pitch to bat on as currently lots of uneven bounce, even Root is not having it all his own way, 150+ might be a decent score.

Things must be bad as both TMS & Sky have mentioned the return of a certain Mr Bell at three.

If Old Trafford can have a James Anderson End, will Edgbaston get a Bell End?

They already have! Whoops showing my known bias! Seriously he has to be first choice for the selectors, fifty seventh in the county averages, with a fantastic 27,58 average! Ballance is averaging 101 in eleven innings for Yorkshire, and a double hundred too!

Unless your name is Moeen Ali, here catch this Mr Bairstow. Even the skipper has a laugh.

Well I did say it would take a miracle to snatch MOTH from Jimmy and that miracle was in the shape of Moeen.

And this time I heard that it was indeed the $ky commentary team that decides.

But that same team was harking on just how good a No.8 he is which you can also turn around saying that he was not so good in the other 6 or more positions he has played.

But he did make the break-tho when I was beginning to think that S.A. could save this one with a little help from some more rain.
