Cavendish looking good in the final sprint approach then BANG! into the side fence...maybe, if that's his collarbone, that's down and out...

Peter quits the Tour.
My feeling is mixed because I think it's fair because he did a big mistake during the sprint. In the other hand, I feel sad because he is a great name and this Tour will feel boring without him. |

I watched it 'live' on French TV, and as soon as it happened I thought 'Bastard that was deliberate'. I sis not know at the time it was Sagan. BUT the French TV fok thought it was deliberate too. IF he has been kicked out, it is about time that they took discipline seriously, but equally it is sad that such an exciting rider id out. Teach him to get ahead of Frome on GC!

Such a shame; I think throwing Sagan out is an over-reaction (and Cavendish is my favourite rider). Sagan's elbow was deliberate, stupid and unecessary but I think Chris Boardman got the summary right on ITV4. Sagan wasn't the only one veering dangerously, but he did throw that elbow. Cavendish behaved with commendable restraint, spoke very well but looked like a man who wants to ride tomorrow but knows that the odds are heavily against that happening. I think that's his tour finished, which, with Sagan leaving, will be a tremendous loss to the entertainment value this year.
Quickstep went MIA which was odd, Greipel looks woefully short of confidence, so we might see a mix of sprint winners. But it's a sad day, knowing that two of the brightest lights are almost certainly going to be missing. |
