I never liked Someimage
because I could never get bulk downloading plugins
to work for them.
I posted in ImageVenue until they started
dropping large swaths of my posts.
Now you tell me ImageBam is infested
with Ransomware!
What to do now?
I've recently started scanning again
after a long hiatus
and I want to put my stuff in the right place.

Don't think that's the case presently but it was an issue early in the year.

The ransomware plague was not just limited to Imagebam, it was all over the place.

VEF needs its own private image and file host, with uploads restricted to registered VEF members.

Wonder how much that would cost, though?

I think VEF had this in the early days. The thing is pricy, the imagehosts cover this by ads, and the ads are the problematic part - they may be not just annoying, but downright dangerous. So, if the hosting is financed by ads it's down to the host to screen the ads for safety. The same would apply to VEF, would it ever consider going down that route.

Would VEF be any better at screening ads for safety than the imagehosts? I doubt it. So, it's down to us using adblockers and the like to stay safe. BTW I noticed that imagebam very recently put ads in www.imagebam.com/files and put them just above images; this outwitted my adblocker, but I could add the address to my blocksite blacklist and the thing disappeared.

Yes i was about to say the same thing. perhaps a forum member with knowledge on these things can open one up but be reasonable with the rates. i hope things work out with these things. on the internet, there is way too much porn that is not quality, imho. Taking up so much storage.

I've used SomeImage a handful of times for pics over 10Mb

Given the problem faced with checking thousands of posts, I have a rough idea which threads they would be in & used this method to find them:

Go to the likely threads, & select the 'Who Posted' page

(right click, open in new tab)

Locate your posts & click the number

brings-up the list of all posts you made in that thread

Use the browsers search (Ctrl F in Chrome) looking for keyword 'some'.
If there is more than the 2 results from the banner on the page, it's easy to locate & check that post

Sadly, the only stuff I tend to save after posting are my classic, original covered | tagged ALS sets. I've posted almost exclusively with them damn near since my join date.

When I want to upload pics I dont have browse option anymore. How to solve this problem?

Are you using P&H barni?
If so, they're doing a revamp of the site, and are having issues today.
