I'm using Opera, which is a Chromium version, will do it with Chromium, Google etc.).

With Opera I use jDownloader 2 which is an extra Program. After installing start it, klick to collect links. Change to your browser and..."if you mark an URL and klick kopie in your browser" it's link with subfolders is available to download in jDownloader. You can download it now. The program makes an Folder in the Download folder and is called like the link. In the folder are your pictures movies etc.
So you mustn't care which browser you use.

It's free. I'm on Linux.

P.S jDownloader had it's name from "JavaScript" downloader and must be available for all Systems. Windows, Mac, Linux, etc...

Hope it helps

Guys, forget about Pale Moon(don't get me wrong, is a good browser but you can't export Firefox passwords to PM, which is a drag; also, some FF add-ons don't work with PM such as IDM integration).

If you got a 64-bit system, try Waterfox; it's pretty much like Firefox(in fact when you install WF, your FF profile is entirely transferred to WF-including your passwords-), but faster and you will recover ImageHost Grabber(v. 1.7.0.3) functionality. I like it so far!

Seems really the best alternative.
If you got FF setup with all the addons you wanted you can use them in WF too.
Beware you can't run FF & WF at the same time.

3. This morning 1.6.5.3. didnīt work no longer - not only on someimage, but with every pic-hoster

4. Member J4ZZīs recommendation (redirect within the a.m. quote) and customized XPI-file for IHG 1.6.6.4 has solved the problems and works like a charm...at least for the very moment!

5. I also have installed Palemoon alternatively and will use it together with IHG 1.7.0.3. in case the Firefox-probs do re-occur.

************************

Additional recommendation:

If you plan to use J4ZZīs customized XPI for IHG 1.6.6.4, de-install your earlier IHG-version entirely first.

Quote:
(1.) Select Tools --> Add-ons and locate ImageHost Grabber's listing.

(2.) Click "Remove" and follow the prompts including restarting your browser.
"Entirely" means to also clear Firefox from all the debris which is still left after ^^this regular^^ removal.

Quote:
(3.) After restart, type "about:config: in your address bar.

(4.) Then type "imagegrabber" in the search bar.

(5.) Right click and select "reset" on each imagegrabber entry.

(6.) Restart your browser again.

(7.) To confirm complete removal, follow steps #3-4 again and if you see no entries then IHG is completely gone.
^^Quotes (1) to (7) derive from the Imagehost-Grabber Homepage^^

Once this this removal-procedure is entirely completed, you then can go and install the recommended, customized XPI-File provided by J4ZZ.

Question is if one really wants to roll back to an old version of IHG, I remember I switched to a newer version because of some problems with some hosters.
So currently I prefer a new browser(WF) with the latest IHG instead of the latest FF with an older IHG.

If we could get the latest IHG running on the latest FF it would be charming but I guess that is more than complicated or else the IHG board would already have provided such a solution.

Thatīs up to each and everyone

However, I have never experienced too much of difference between the "older" version (1.6.5.3) and the actual one (1.7.0.3.)

On more, that a.m. customized version by J4ZZ has the newest hostf.xml incorporated, so the mentioned probs with some hosters seem to be settled.

Anyway, I personally am rather relaxed which version of IHG is running on my system as long as it grabs the pics from the pic-hoster. Hence, I find this (interim) solution quite handy as it gives me the chance to stick with FF and all the other Add-Ons that I donīt wanna miss.

This is of course the "picture of the very moment"...

...but luckily, we have learned about possible alternatives when really needed

What this really boils down to is the fact that content shared via someimage is not truly freely accessible. The days of manually going through and clicking each link for a new window and saving an image individually are gone and have been for some time now. Download managers are the norm and any host that will not play nice with them should not be allowed here IMHO.

Its not so bad if it is just a few pics, but when a member puts up a few posts per day in a given thread with each gallery having over 100 pics in each post: its just simply not feasible to click each link and manually download each one.

I would suggest that posters be required to offer an alternative download source for situations like this.... You want to use someimage or other host that isn't compatible with the usual download add-ons with FF? O.K. But if making the material accessible is the intended purpose of the forum, then also offer a link to a zip of the entire set on mediafire or depositfiles or whatever..

There is some really nice content being posted by great members. Unfortunately not being to save a local copy without spending a great deal of time or going through lots of hoops (all this B.S. with old versions of IHG and whatnot is a big pain the ass just for some pictures BTW) simply means that I'll have to pass on the content and cannot hit the thanks button though the effort to post is greatly appreciated.

How true!

The "traditional" collectors of entire pic-series will never go the route of clicking each and every pic - even pic-grabbers do often fail to download completely. Not to forget the (natural) losses that come along with pic-hosters in general.

Unfortunately and regrettably, I very often do skip recent posts of large picture-series meanwhile provided by valuable & precious members just because the picture-downloads via Grabbers are likely to stay incomplete.
For me, "incomplete" is when 1 picture of a series is missing.

But thatīs another story and certainly off-topic within this thread.

if you need a someimage anticontainer for downthemall..

Code:
{
  "gone": "The image in question does not exist.",
  "useServerName": true,
  "builder": "{1}",
  "prefix": "someimage.com",
  "namer": "{2}",
  "match": "^(http|https)://(?:[\\w\\d.]+\\.)?someimage\\.com/[a-z0-9]{4,}$",
  "date": 1374164728000,
  "ns": "downthemall.net",
  "type": "resolver",
  "finder": "src='(.+?)'.+id='viewimage'.+title='(.+?)'"
}
1. open a textfile, paste the code and save as "someimg.com.json" to your desktop
2. go to firefox settings, choose add-ons, choose Downthemall Anticontainer, click "Settings"
3. click "install plugin", choose "somimg.com.json" file from your desktop. "ok".

done.
