Circumventing Blocked Sites

Hi folks...stuck in hospital and the wifi blocks VEF as an adult site. I assume that's because we are correctly identified as adult lol or because we have erotica in the web address.

Does any of you have an idea how i can get around this problem?

Would help as I'm really really really missing you guys...m

Having to do everything on a 4G connection on small size phone sucks.

Any pointers would be appreciated as always.

The only way I know would be to use a proxy.

What are doing in the hospital, anyway? Trying to pick up nurses? Seriously take care of yourself and get out of there asap.

If you're running Android, you can either just google "android proxy" and search the results or go to the Google Play store and search "proxy". I'm not an Apple guy, but I'm certain that there must be proxies available for ios. I got a few hits doing a basic search, but I think that you'll probably have to poke around iTunes to find them. Apple is extremely proprietary regarding their hardware and software, so you may not have as many options. Either way, you'll have to download and run an app, so be sure to check user ratings and the small print. Smartphone viruses and malware are on the rise and you gotta keep an eye out for shady stuff. Less of a problem with Apple considering their fairly strict vetting process, but still a concern.

I'm sorry to hear that you're in the hospital and I sincerely hope that you're on the mend. Get better and get your butt back to VEF! That's an order!

As if being in the hosp wasn't bad enough...

on the iphone go to settings -> personal hotspot
turn that on and then on the computer choose the phone in WiFi choices
enter the password and..
Disco
You are off the Hospital's network and can go anywhere you like

If you can use Chromebrowser, install Betternet addon. Unlimited free VPN that might help.

I'm on a ipad.

I've run out of personal hotspot data through my phone.

I've Been here two weeks now. I've no idea what's going on but I'm so bored I've offered to moderate again lol

I can use my 4G connection....but they are too clever so they know I'm tethering. They don't seem to like that these days.

I'll look into it some more. Until then...tiny screen it is.

I mean....it'd aid my development and recovery wouldn't it?
