Siblings

I just read a PM from one of our, more well known members. I laughed a bit sorry mate He was full of praise about his sister

Then I thought back too yesterday, Xmas. We were all at Mums and Dads, whole extended family was there. I have 2 brothers (sisters IMHO), I'm the middle son. My brothers and I, now, get on with each other like the model sons Mum wished for when we were growin' up.

But something funny happens, whenever 2 or all of us are in that house, we go back too a state of what it was like when we were young.

My younger brother sat down in the lounge room, my older brother walked in a minute or so later and forced him out of "his" chair.... just like when we were young. It was funny, Mum was in there and blamed my Dad for them 2 acting like kids.

When we were young, I'd hang out with my younger brother as we had common friends and are close in age, even if it did erupt in arguments and violence at times. My older brother was a bit of a brute too us when young and he never hung out with us.

But these days, whenever we get the chance, we'll visit each other, any bullshit reason will do.

How do you get on with your brothers and sisters ?

I have a brother and a sister,My sister,I get on with Her famously,We're around the same age and We see each other so often,she lives on the Isle of Wight so that entails a trip on the ferry.My brother now,He's thirteen years younger than Me and I don't think We ever really got on.I hadn't heard from Him for years until He sent Me a friend request on Facebook,I didn't actually see Him Mum died and Lo and behold there He was.Amazing what a legacy can do. We spoke a few words at the funeral and They were a very few,We haven't spoken since and frankly I wouldn't care if We never spoke again.

Three older brothers and two older sisters. Yes, I am the baby. I am lucky in that I get along pretty well with all of my siblings. My oldest brother was always the good kid. He was a nice guy and kind of acted as a third parent for me. He lives 400 miles away as does my second oldest brother. My second brother was the physical, tough brother who took no crap. I tangled with him on a regular basis when we grew up. He was older and stronger than me so I took many whoopings but it made me tough and looking back now as an adult, I deserved nearly every one of them. I respect him now as much as any of my siblings. Third older brother is very smart and kind of a nerd. He is now an attorney and lives 20 minutes away. He likes to hang out with me when he "slums" it and really lets his hair down when we are together, if you know what I mean. I think he treats my bachelor pad as an oasis from work and home. And that's cool with me. Oldest sister and I are the most alike. We talk on a regular basis and act as peacemaker among the others. She is a close friend and I confide in her as much as any sibling. She is very perceptive and kind. Second sister, closest to me in age.........she's a handful. Causes a lot of drama in the family and demands a lot of attention and time. She used to live hundreds of miles away and we all slept easy at night. She moved back a few years ago and the drama hasn't stopped. She is nice, good hearted, fun and I love her to death but she is a pain in the ass. But I am extremely lucky that I have a good relationship with my siblings. I really enjoy spending time with each of them. Just not too much time.

I have a younger sister. We used to get along as kids but we're growing apart now.

I have a younger brother who lives in Berlin he's been there 20 years. Never really got on as kids. I once threw a dart at his head and it was stuck in his forehead had to pull it out and watch it bleed. Now we are very close. Make music together, but we can still fall out the odd time.

I've got 4 siblings - three older, one younger. We all like each other fine.

We have a long standing agreement that we don't give each other presents for birthdays or Christmas.

I often wonder which of us will die first - I hope it's not me !!

3 sisters, one 8 years older, one 18 months younger than me and the youngest is 5 years younger than me. I get on with the 2 younger ones but Ive never got on with my eldest sister, havent seen her since my mums funeral 7 years ago.

Haven't spoken with either my brother or sister for 20 years !
