We all have our unique talents that we "sell" to an employer or client to make a living...some of us are are good with math, others are good mechanics, and so on...and some do sexual things for a living. I don't let my job define me, although I know some do. But as long as you are not hurting another or taking advantage of someone I don't buy into the "get a honest job" stigma placed on a lot of adult performers. For me, it comes down to character...if she were a good person, pleasant to be around, and was secure and confident with herself yes I would absolutely consider marriage.

This is a stereotype that a lot of people buy into without thinking about it too rigorously. I worked in the business as a lawyer for about ten years, and had a fairly active practice involving people in the sex industry throughout the 40 years I practiced.

By "rigorous thinking" I mean simply asking the question, "Compared to what?" In the United States at any given moment about 20% of us meet the diagnostic standards for mental illness. Add the assortment of alcohol and drug problems, and the estimate that 25% of girls and 10% of boys are sexually molested, and people in the porn industry seem pretty normal.

When we get more used to sex and don't judge people for having done sex it will be better. The problem is that the way many of these films are made just show that (specially nowadays) porn actors and actresses may have relationship issues. It's kind of violent and degrading.

In a number of ways the opposite is true because of selection. Within the porn industry many (if not most) of the performers date and eventually marry others within the industry, simply because there are a lot of shared values.

Not because of the sex itself (and she did some wild stuff like foursomes, etc.), but because she's ashamed. She did for the money, and because she believed would have lots of fun. She partially did. The sex itself wasn't always pleasurable and often hurt, but the money was good for a young lady. Party girl. I think for her there are two interconnected issues. First, we can't deny society is conservative and doing porn is considered something dirty, etc. I don't need to elaborate this point. It turned out she became very conscious of that, I think. She started thinking about her future and got deeply depressed. She never wanted to be a pornstar like Jenna, Ginger Lynn, etc.. She was there because she was a silly young girl after easy money.

We can't pretend it's a profession like any other else, taking into consideration how usually society sees sex, the sexual repression that screws up with so many people. All the trauma, shame about your desires, etc. Besides, there's the argument about selling your body for money, what kind of person does this, etc. Finally, being a woman is the worst. The men are stallions the women are whores.

Second, she's a mother now. She has another life which isn't compatible with porn. She was married. Her child is growing up, and she's very much afraid of the reaction if or when the past surfaces again. "Look mummy with a cock in her mouth while fucking another guy at the same time." Let's be frank. Children are the product of the same society. The possibility her child will say "cool" is zero. It's going to be traumatic. Imagine, when she was married, if her in-laws found out, for example. Her relatives. Usually, people aren't ready to accept.
