A question...
(only recently) i noticed that the GOP logo has 3 stars that are upside down. Which is surprising for a party that houses many conservative christians who see the devil in everything. A star pointing down is a satanist sign though (like when used in a pentagram) Hence my question: why are these stars the way they are? |

As an example, the same five point star you reference is also on the Congressional Medal of Honor... and has been since its creation in the 1860s.

Also, putting a star upside down takes an extra action (i mean like in the process of making a logo), so i expect there to be a reason for it. They could just as well have used a regular star (like in the stars and stripes), which would make more sense. When you turn it upside down, i expect there to be a specific reason for it, no matter which reason that might be. Edit: for example, that medal could even be a reason why they decided to use the stars upside down. I mean it as a genuine question, not an attack. Edit 2: Evil is a big word but sometimes yes. Example: swastika. |

I think certain people think they see evil because they want to see evil.

So it's weird to do something in a logo that could be perceived as such. Especially by the targeted audience of it. I used to make logo's and i can tell you that every line or shape is thought through and needs to be backed up by an explanation of why it is like it is. The person who turned the stars upside down would have had to come up with a good reason to do it, and i am curious about wat that motivation could be (i am not on a political witch hunt) Also, it seems that in the past, the GOP logo used to have regular upright stars. |

Those stars are not 'upside-down', they are dancing on one leg.
Duh! I think....

For Republicans surely a Satanist is preferable to a Liberal or an Atheist.

I'd agree with that if the symbol were unique to the Nazis and never had any other meaning or significance. But it's not. The symbol has been found in native cultures all around the world dating back over 3000 years. It's a common symbol in Buddhism and Hinduism and is still common in India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, for example.
Perhaps to the western world it's a symbol of evil but obviously there are those on the planet that don't share that view. Really? This whole question was nothing other than a basis to slag republicans. I'll bet you don't even personally know any. That's how I see it.. especially in this image:
