The civil trial of the killing of Daniel Shavers should be interesting. The earlier posted video of him getting gunned down in the hallway of a hotel in Mesa Arizona is quite damning. Mark Geragos, a noted attorney, is representing the widow.

As a spectator at the criminal trial - he has commented that the judge's jury instructions were incorrect and basically called for a directed verdict of not guilty. https://www.podcastone.com/reasonable-doubt It is at the end of that podcast. It is not an appealable item.

Gunning down a drunk guy with a 0.29 alcohol level for not following all instructions perfectly in a no shots fired/no gun visible situation (prior to the arrival of the police) is pretty unjustifiable. Mesa Arizona is going to have to open up their pocket books to payoff this one.

Hopefully, the officer gets hit with a healthy judgment. too. One has to wonder if AG Jeff Sessions will look into whether the deputy violated the deceased's civil rights.

I'm still a little stunned but in a good way. I actually didn't think we could do it. Some of the interviews I heard today of voters just almost made me sick. Speaking of Moore I heard "He's just a good christian man", or "Just don't want a Democrat to get it". It's like they were willing to overlook anything in order to vote for someone with a R in front of their name.

A huge thank you to my fellow Alabama citizens for telling this creep that enough is enough. Go back to whatever rock you crawled out from under and stay there. NO MOORE!!!!!

It's too bad he never went to prison for his shenanigans and got Blacked in the shower. I suppose money and privilege protected him from all that.

I heard a Trump strategist last night on a panel say that he is glad Moore didn't win. He said they didn't want to have the last surviving Confederate General of the Civil War standing on the Senate floor putting out his nonsense. I thought that was a pretty good one.

GOP Weighs Deep Cut in Tax Rate

Senior Republican negotiators were close to reaching a deal Tuesday to reduce the tax rate for high-income households from 39.6 percent to 37 percent, blowing past political concerns about aiding the rich in order to ease passage of a $1.5 trillion tax package.

Senate OKs Trump judicial pick who was rated 'not qualified'

The Senate on Tuesday narrowly confirmed one of President Donald Trump's judicial nominees despite a rare "not qualified" rating from the American Bar Association. On a party-line vote of 50-48, the Republican-led Senate backed Leonard Steven Grasz to serve on the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Grasz served for more than 11 years as Nebraska's chief deputy attorney general and was general counsel to the Nebraska Republican Party.
In one opinion he helped craft, he said the legacy of the landmark abortion rights ruling Roe v. Wade was its "moral bankruptcy." Another opinion he helped write warned of the "grave danger" of the Nebraska Supreme Court recognizing same-sex marriages from other states, and he advised that legislation refusing to recognize same-sex marriages could be defended against a constitutional challenge.

Grasz is the 10th appellate court nominee of the Trump presidency to win confirmation. Two more appellate court nominees are expected to be voted on later this week.
By comparison, President Barack Obama had three appellate court judges confirmed in his first year.
Grasz was only the third nominee since 1989 to be unanimously deemed "not qualified" by the ABA. In that time, it has reviewed more than 1,700 nominees.
