Mark Lawrenson is irritating and well past his sell-by; the 'Twat's Twat'.
Shearer has never had anything to say worth listening to. Why is he on the screen? Hansen exhausted his sum knowledge many seasons ago - he sounds like he's on a loop. I suspect over exposure to Lawro fused something years back. He rivals Lineker in conceit, which is saying something. Why is it that ex-players become 'safe' - both Lee Dixon and Martin 'face made for radio' Keown were good pundits when they started but seem to be on the slide. Garth Crooks is a whole new subspecies of self satisfied smug, and risible beyond belief. Has slighlty more insight than the imbecile Carlton Palmer although that's pushing it. However my real hit list: "Spoony" - knows fuckall, namedrops and should NEVER be allowed near football/sport broadcasting ever again; Tim Lovejoy - I even preferred David Mellor to him. Utterly f'in clueless creep. Robbie overexposed Savage; shouts anyone down that doesn't agree with him, so dense and opinionated he's unlistenable and seems to think that having been a pro makes him a world authority on the game. It so obviously doesn't. My favourite, by any number of country miles, is the Great Jimmy Armfield, who manages to say more in one short quiet understated sentence than the rest of these babbling monkeys have managed in their entire broadcasting careers. Oh and 'amen' to Victor's comment about the football league show. It's far more about the football... Last edited by pierrelm; September 12th, 2012 at 06:57 PM.. Reason: Correction and addition. |

"Name one of their albums, go on, name one" Loveboys stared at the camera like a hunted deer, lost. Clearly he had never heard of them. Me, I'm so old that I actually saw them live a couple of times, so I loved it even more. If I recall correctly, the staff on Soccer AM gave him dog's abuse for weeks, on the back of it. Anyway mate, hopefully Melanie Bishop works for you on another host. Hail hail.

Agree with all the views on Smug Lineker, I am God Hansen, and nice but dim lawrenson but my pet hate is Mark Bright, so bland and incisive its cringeworthy. He can be 100% sure on something until Garth Crooks argues against him and he decides Garths right and he's wrong
And dont get me started on David Pleat.... |

Lovejoy was apparently a Watford 'supporter' who decided to follow Chelski once they gained success. Says it all... I'd genuinely forgotten Mark Bright existed. I think if we can all simultaneously forget him, he'll actually disappear. Makes Shearer look like Tommy Docherty. |

But seriously folks, reading the comments on this thread, just confirms my current feeling of dismay and falling out of love with English Premiership football as packaged today (and hyped as "the greatest, most exciting league in the world" © SKY TV), populated by players who kiss the club badge of ABC FC one season, followed the next with press conferences explaining why the move to XYZ FC was really the dream move they always wanted. For EPL football, read "Moneyball" instead...

Maribor, Slovenia????
Hi All!
Just booked my trip there in the Wankropa League with Spurs. Any Brum fans here who went when Birmingham played there? Or, I think Glasgee Rangers played there when they were a 'Big' club. Just wanted a few 'useful' pointers for the trip. Where to 'booze' and is there a red light district to avoid??? |

Maribor is one of two cities in 2012 to be European Capitals of Culture. The term 'red light district' seems to have taken on a new meaning!
On Poštna Street - now a red light district of Maribor, every weekend from 25th of May until 28th of July the intellectual whores of different professional profiles will operate in artistically modified discarded gondolas of the Pohorje cable-car. Under the auspices of the Performa Festival, the event will not take place only during the usual period at the end of November.

Well of course, Thank you for your enlightenment!!!!
I knew that all along, I was just testing you. Of course i wasn't going ANYWHERE near any whores. BUT you ain't told be where the good boozers are Just off now to ogle Kate 'Cambridge' P.S. Hari-kiri if I watch Spurs loose at Reading on Sunday. Boaz is a word in freemasonry. So I will be cautious though Last edited by mitchspur; September 14th, 2012 at 10:22 PM.. |

Norwich 0 West Ham 0
Another lunch time ko and another visit to the pub. Norwich having the better of a poor game and on another day, they might well of had a couple of pens. At least the beer was more enjoyable than the game. Could be a struggle for Norwich as a few of our went missing, especially in the second half.
