former temporary 'foster mother' ...
15+ years on she is working herself to death, 2 years from probable retirement, broke all the time, and stressed out beyond belief...
as for me, i have no debts, and i have more $ than i can spend since i desire little or nothing anymore...
there have been other insults and nasty comments over the years but this one stuck with me for irony of our situations...

In sixth grade, two students who would eventually bully me physically asked me: "Are your parents nerds?" It was the first time in my life that anyone my age had ever made fun of my family, and made it sound like it was a terrible thing to be smart.

It was to become a recurring theme in middle school, and even in high school, I met people who didn't like me or my family for some reason. One of them was my tenth grade girlfriend Nicole, who eventually attacked my parents verbally because they didn't believe that the district's school levy was a good idea. They had just lost their business, and didn't know if they could afford another $250.00 per year in taxes. Nicole was out of my life after eleventh grade, when she graduated a year ahead of me.

So middle school and high school were full of rude and arrogant people.
