^^ Should. But so many times they snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

And as I write it's approx. 100 from 20. Yes. It should be a walk in the park or a dip in the field-side pool

Typical effort from a mis-firing team thats dropped from 1st to 5th in 2 years

Australia are little more than a few players in form but most are not and the selectors
are too busy playing dumb & dumber.

Seriously no Lyon because it might affect his test bowling but its ok
for him to play the T20 big bash

Pick a guy whose been playing 3 - at no 7 - bizarre

What we do know is one dayers are just a cash cow - results are largely irrelevant
given the nature of WC qualification

Englands disaster of WC 2015 gave them a reason to clean out the dead wood

Only 6 of the 15 are here now

Both Countries U19 do battle on Monday in the World Cup.

I have watched some of the games with India and NZ appearing to be the picks of the bunch. England topped a group of minor nations, the Baggy Greens should prove a tougher test.

'Cash Cows' certainly. But in England's case they are desperate for a one-day trophy.

So all this, and Bayliss's appointment, is to have the best possible preparation ahead of the real target the 2019 WC which happens to be on home soil even if it makes Victor's blood boil with the prospect of a drop-in pitch at the London Stadium or whatever it is called these days (former Olympic Stadium and current home to West Ham F.C.)

Yet the Rugby WC proved that home advantage is not always ideal since the world and his wife is watching and scrutinising.

As far as England and the cricket world cup are concerned since 1992 we have been a laughing stock, even losing to Bangladesh in 2015.

We have zero chance for as soon as ODI becomes more than a money spinning tournament before or after a test series the rest step up and we fall apart.

According to the three wise monkeys summer sports will no longer be a problem at the OS.

Even I know its another false dawn.

I know England won the tri series on 06. But I reckon this is the best I've seen England play ODI in Australia ever. Relative to how cricket was played at the time, I think I'd still pick these guys over the 92 WC team.

I am not convinced and according to commentary Australia have only won four of the last 18 ODI's they have played.

We have had a lot of better players since 1992, except when the World Cup comes around we seem unable to cope with real pressure.

Only 2 certainties in pyjama cricket tournaments

South Africas run scoring will evaporate in sudden death games at some point

New Zealand will make another Semi before losing

Everything else is luck even with a team brimming with talent and inform

The unpredictable Pakistan beat this England side in England by 8 wickets with 13 overs to spare in the 2017 semi - my memory seems to recall the pitch played a part
More sub-continent than England

The Pakistanis who have been the fielding laughing stock for ever in a day
