You are right. You shouldn't. Only if you don't want your files to be posted on a preferred host by other members. You have made your case for Filefactory earlier, and it was rejected by the VEF staff. So it's time to move on to another host or let it go. And I don't think you have been posting anything new for years?

It's hard to say what the limit for storage is these days. Filefactory seems to have a hard line at 5TB. So you shouldn't have more than 5TB stored if their FAQ is to be believed. A few of the other hosters now distinguish between hot and cold storage. Files being downloaded frequently (hot storage) do not count against your quota. In theory, you can probably have 10TB on several of them, if the files are downloaded frequently.

Personally I never reupload something who is hosted on a file service not so bad even if it isn't on the prefered list. I prefer to do so for the crappy file host (you know the one I'm talking about) if I can download them and have the patience to wait.

But it's just me and the rules say that you can repost anything who isn't on the prefered list so this is what it is.

for that specific reason. various different rule have been put in effect through

the years, targeting specifically me. You and other mods and/or former mods

may say otherwise......but it would be a lie. That and only that

is the reason I have not posted in years. So please.......get off the high horse,

of demanding I use different file hosts, when I know what's best for

me. I've shared things here at VEF, that have been reposted not only here,

but all over the net. I've been at Filefactory over 10 years now. I joined when

the limit was 25 gb. It later was expanded to unlimited.......with me being a

paying member all that while. My file total......that you seem not to believe, is

truthfully, 9.6 TB. I have no limit, as I've been a member this long.Grandfathered

in so to speak. I download many things from FF. 98% of the files I've shared

here, are still alive, a great many years since they've been posted. FF has

outlasted virtually each and every file host that is now being used. You don't

like the choices I make.......not my problem sir. Go out and purchase the

hard copies that I have then.......doesn't matter to me either way. I didn't

begin to share things with someone's favorite file host in mind. I shared the

things that I've shared here through the years, with what I'd shared taking

care of that. If that still bothers you.........not my problem

I've got news for you son. We never targeted you by taking Filefactory off the preferred list. We took it off because it sucked for free downloaders. It's that simple. It's not on the required host list at PlanetSuzy either in V&C because it sucks too.

We created a preferred host list to make it easier for members to download what we share. It's that simple. They were bitching that it took forever to download something from that host and most of the time the download would not complete. Why should we allow host to be preferred when the same file takes 3 hours with Filefactory when it takes less than 2 minutes with another host.

Get over it, we're tired of the complaining. May I remind you too that attitude from any member is not tolerated here or at any forum.

As I have already said many times, forums are not a democracy. Forum Administrators are responsible for all final decisions that are made. If you or anyone else does not like that it's too bad because that is the way it has to be.
