You're looking for an answer on a porn forum?
To reproduce our genes, that's it. That's why are we're all spending time looking at porn and tossing off. And just remember - every sperm is sacred. |

We live to support a Football (aka Soccer) Team.
Any other activity is a distraction which conducts only to the failure of our team. Well, may be I am exagerating a little... You can support a Formula One driver too. :-) |

The meaning of life - as in its purpose? The purpose of life, is to discover the purpose of life. It's the journey, not the arrival.
Because we all know what's waiting at the end of the journey... |

I have asked this question myself many times in my life of several decades and come to the conclusion that the meaning of life is life itself whatever that may mean.

"To eternalise ourselves, that is our mission"
I'm not doing too well at this.......perhaps I'll just have to settle for the "10 minutes of fame"........where's my gun? |

I think many people would answer that the meaning of life is to invent and create tools that serve to destroy life as we know it on this planet.
Not me. My personal opinion, I think that we live to know and learn, and if we can, teach something before we go away. Salut !

No Answer?
I once saw an episode of the Twilight Zone about this, a old man is walking around a rural American village whispering in peoples ears, on hearing what he's said they go stark staring bonkers and begin wandering around zombie-like, it turns out he knows the secret of the meaning of life and has decided to tell everyone, trouble is it's so shocking it drives everyone mad - So there's the answer, there is no answer because if we knew the meaning of life we'd all go barmy?

Ok so we have the concept of 'self'. I think therefore I am. So we have the ability to form complex conceptual positions, write poetry, do great good or great evil.
What does that mean? Is life the end in itslef or is there another reason, another journey? My guess, life is about experiences and relationships with other sentient gene packaging units. Is the meaning to reproduce or reproduce ones thoughts? I am going to do the best that I can, make things better within my limits for other people and animals. I do think that there is enough research now to support the concept of some animals having the concept of 'self' particulary with primates, some cetaceans oer at least the consequence of behaviour, even if that consequence is not for oursleves but for others. So humans and some animals demonstrate compassion. I am starting to live through my children, their experiences and thoughts and at 50 yo I am starting to think what it would be like to see my children's childen. I want immortality, I want health, I want happiness. But why? I enjoy laughter, a drink with friends, a warm spring day, other things which trip my senses, Pink Floyd. Perhaps... the meaning is to experience joy and love....but why? |
