TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5, is a great program for restoration of old video's. I have just bought this program after having a very extended trial, it was sold to me through that..

Just remember, you can not make new film!, you can only work with what you have, but you can make whats in front of you, a hundred times better, honest.

I have learn't a lot through the trial...I keep revisiting old posts, and I surprise myself. Now I own the full program I have even better rips from DVD's, better than before.
Anyway my point is, great program...but please play with it, saves you having to repost.

Do v.o.d sites have rights to the films they show or buy the rights to what they can find?

Many of my films are turning up at v.o.d sites now....very odd.

I hope I'm not treading on toes here. I was recommended by someone on here the excellent Cheshire Cat One Click Thumbnailer. When I went looking for it, I couldn't find it - however it turned up on another computer I had. It makes a thumbnail on the desktop with all pertinant info inscribed on the top: I thought others might like it (if it's here, search failed to find), so uploaded it to:

Hi,

I have tried this small bit of freeware tool out from Microsoft Research and while it is designed for stitching together panoramas it has a poor to decent chance of stitching together centerfold or other magazine scans automatically in a few seconds. The resulting file can be saved and it should look as good as your source material.

System Requirements
Operating system: 64-bit version of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7

I assume it will work on Windows 8.

The biggest bug I have found (detailed below) is when the drag and drop functionality doesn't work and I have to use the manual mode.

Structured Panorama dialog sometimes shows diagonally-striped boxes instead of thumbnail images.
Depending on the aspect ratio of your photos, the thumbnail images displayed by the Structured Panorama dialog may get corrupted, showing lots of diagonal stripes instead of the actual images. This is a bug in ICE, and it will be fixed in our next release. Note that the incorrect thumbnails have no effect on the final stitched output, but they certainly make the Structured Panorama dialog hard to use. (For now, you may be able to avoid the problem by rotating your images 90 degrees or cropping them a bit before bringing them into ICE.)

I recommend this for the times when it just works and I have posted some before and after pictures. Not all are awesome, but it is free...

Overview

Although no free software the free unregistered test version is very useful to detect hidden processes not displayed at normal Task Manager and not detected by your antivirus software.

"It detects all tasks/processes running on the computer and displays their ranking according to their security risk rating. If you use/have installed Skype additional software by EasyBits was installed without notice by you. Beside possible Skype Game Channel you got Easybits shared for windows. It's suspected to observe your browser actvities. None of Easybits software is needed for MS Windows OS.

This maleware/crapware is invisible to normal Task Manager, you need Security Task Manager (STM) posted here

Check after scanning by STM whether EasyBits is installed. If yes removing by STM is useless, next time EasyBits is detected again.

You have to remove manually by the help of Registry Editor (be carefully!):

- open REGEDIT (execute)
- check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es - remove EasyBits if listed
- check HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE - remove EasyBits with all sub-folders
- close REGEDIT

- search file "ezsvc7.dll" and remove it at your OS partition (usually C:\)

- reboot your computer

- check by STM whether EasyBits is really gone

If you use Skype pay attention whether MS updates try to install EasyBits again.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Remove of or only deny access to EasyBits GO feature doesn't solve Easybits shared for windows problem!

Remark: Had installed Skype but removed later. EasyBits software was still installed and accidential detected at manually removing of other malware.
