I am bit curious how many guys at VEF consider themselves gay but still are fond of straight erotica. Of course nobody is 100 % gay or straight. Still if I had to make a choice I would call myself a gay man. I live together with a male partner since over 20 years and very happy with him, and my sexpartners so far have only been men. No I won't talk about gay sex here. Although there are a few threats about gay erotica the focus of the VEF is on straight erotica and I think it should stay like that. But although I would call myself gay I have always loved straight erotica. There was only a short period in myself right after my coming out that was a consumer of gay erotica only. But then I discovered that I turned on very much by magazines like Penthouse or Hustler. And I love a website like the VEF. Some people might say that I must be bisexual or bicurious, but I feel completely fine with being a gay men who likes straight erotica.



I wonder if there are more men around who have similar feelings and experiences.

I do remember the first time when I got exited by straight erotica. I have grown up in the Netherlands and every Sunday I was at my grandmother's place. My youngest uncle was still living at home and I suppose it was him who had subscribed Panorama. It was originally a family magazine but gradually it became a men's magazine. Sometimes it was considered a little bit like the Dutch Playboy although it was a very small scale version.


But now and then they had some very exciting pictures of naked women. Unfortunately not every week. This is one of the picture that got stuck in my memory. It is actually from a German magazine, but I am 100 % sure it is the same photo. It was so exciting that she opened the diving suit to reveal her beautiful tits. And although she doesn't show her pussy you just know that she is naked underneath!

Some time later I discovered an even better Dutch men's magazine called Nieuwe Revu. This time it was my brother-in-law who normally bought. Originally it was a catholic family magazine but like Panoramo it evolved into a pure men's magazine. However whereas Panaroma was a bit more conservative, Nieuwe Revu tried to be left wing. And the best thing that every week they had two sites of erotic photography. It was called "Sex op verzoek" - "sex on request". I loved it and I wish I could see it again. A couple of times they even had very hot pictures of naked men. Well, that stirred the gay spirits in me.


But I have say that I also got turned on by the pictures of nude women. Once they had a picture of a woman sitting on the ground with crossed legs and her pussy a little bit open! And once two women with their butts next to each other. Not really lesbian yet, but getting close.


But the first I ever had on this magazine was on this "lady". Again I have these pictures here from the here as published in Germany, but they are they same. The fourth one is from Nieuwe Revu, but unfortunately it is smaller. But what a woman! I loved that she was taking the passive naked role next to the dressed cowboy. And I love the picture in chaps. I had never seen chaps before, but it is so hot.


When I was fourteen my mother nearly caught me wanking on exactly on these pictures. Well if she had seen me, she would not have thought that I am gay!

When I was a child Playboy was the big name when it came to erotica. Of course you had the cheap dirty porno mags, but it was through Playboy and its founder Hugh Hefner that erotica moved right through the front door. I am not sure when and where I have seen Playboy for the first time, but I do remember this pictorial called House Party from 1977. It shows eight beautiful girls and Heff himself as the only man. I makes him look so incredible sexy. The last picture that shows all of them - eight girls and only one man - in the pool is still my favourite Playboy picture.

If there is one magazine that had influence on my preference with regard to erotica it was Penthouse. I think this is one of the first pictorial I have ever seen. Interesting enough it features a couple from Austria, where I went to live later. The girl is Evelyn Rillé who was Miss Vienna and her boyfriend Chris was Mister Austria. I have to say that as a gay I had more eyes for Chris at the time, but both of them are hot.

It is interesting that for some years after my coming out as a gay men I was only interested in gay erotica. Maybe to learn from it! I often went to magazine shops just to check the mags. They were a bit expensive to buy. And after awhile I got interested in the straight magazines as well. Especially Penthouse.



The good thing about Penthouse was that on the one hand it was gentlemen's magazine just like Playboy. But it showed more! The pussies were open and it showed lesbian sex. LESBIAN! Just like with many straight men it was through Penthouse that just the word lesbian made me horny. It had nothing to do with the butch lesbians who didn't like men and were even against porn. The Penthouse lesbians were the stuff men's dreams were made off.


And this maybe the most classic one: Janine and Robyn. I have remembered those names from the first I ever saw them. So many times I have wanked on them.

I have to say that of the big three - Playboy, Penthouse and Hustler - for a long time Penthouse was my absolute favourite.
