I suppose the hubris combined with the near total lack of competence shouldn't be (and isn't) surprising to me in terms of Trump himself...or his family.
What is slightly more surprising is the amount of ham-handed amateurs - often in the guise of political professionals - that Trump has surrounded himself with. |

That's always been Trump's style. He never hires the best and brightest, they know more than he does and may not always fall in line when told to. By hiring sycophant's he has the control. Willingness to be controlled is what the president see's as loyalty, I think, and this definition of loyalty is what he seems to value most in other people.

He really is surrounded by a bunch of hacks. And not even 1st rate hacks, either. Like, where the hell did he drudge Sarah Huckabee Sanders up from? For those of us who have followed Trump's exploits closely since the 1980s - as opposed to those who only knew him from the bullshit reality tv image he put forward starting with the Apprentice - it has been long known that behind Trump's initial public bluster and bravado, the reality of his "yuge" deals usually ended up being a bill of questionable goods that doesn't end up well for those who decided to go into business with him. It was only after Trump's business ventures were tapered down to basically the licensing of his name - from roughly the mid 1990s up to the present after his AC casinos collapsed - that some of his partners saw a profit. It's no shock at all to me that on all those big-ticket items he campaigned on that actually require coordinated legislation on multiple fronts (healthcare, infrastructure, tax reform, etc.), Trump is probably going to come up with a big, fat zero. Anything that requires action beyond an Executive Order Trump won't be able to pull off, because Trump doesn't do hard stuff. In part because he's incompetent, but mostly because he is a huckster. Always has been a grifter. It's sad that we have come to this, and I am embarrassed to have this man as my President. |

Trump to decide Attorney General Jeff Sessions's fate 'soon'
The White House says it will decide "soon" on the fate of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, after barrage of criticism from President Donald Trump.
In a Twitter onslaught, Mr Trump called the country's top prosecutor "weak", a day after labelling him "beleaguered". At the White House later, Mr Trump said he was "disappointed" with Mr Sessions. The former Alabama senator should not have recused himself from an FBI inquiry into alleged Russian meddling in the election, said the president. Allies of Mr Sessions have indicated that he intends to stay in his post. "Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!" Mr Trump tweeted on Tuesday. Anthony Scaramucci, the president's new communications director, fanned speculation on Tuesday that the attorney general's days could be numbered. "We'll come to a resolution soon," he said when asked by reporters about the tensions between the Republican president and top prosecutor. An interviewer put it to Mr Scaramucci that it was pretty clear Mr Trump wants Mr Sessions gone. "If there's this level of tension in the relationship that's public, you're probably right," Mr Scaramucci said. Details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-40718076

Actually, I still think it's hilarious in a dark sort of way.
The whole Trump Administration is a gang of idiots. At the beginning you think it's just Trump, or a few other people like Bannon, but it is every-single-person. They are all absolutely crazy. I still can't get the image of Sean Spicer trying to steal a mini fridge out of my head. |
